"I bet we've gotten further than anyone before." Henry said as we continued walking.
"I wonder if anyone's even tried." Camilla said, stepping over a pile of pine needles.
"If they have, they're probably not even alive to tell the story." Logan said and Callie reached over and smacked him.
"Ow, what the hell?" He exclaimed, rubbing his arm but she just rolled her eyes at him.
"What were not going to do is say stuff like that." She said making the corners of my lips turn up.
"Why not, it's the truth." He said and Callie raised her eyebrows at him.
"The truth doesn't always have to be spoken, like the truth of your big ass forehead." She said making a laugh bubble out of my chest. I slapped a hand over my mouth as Logan looked over to me, a look of betrayal written on his face.
"At least I'm not the size of a gremlin." He said and the corners of her lips turned up.
"You pretty much are Logan, you're shorter than me." Camilla joked and I spoke up.
"Does that make me a gremlin too?" I asked and they turned to me but Ace was the one to answer.
"Yep." He said and my head whipped around to him.
"You take that back you jolly green giant. You're not in this, everyone is a gremlin compared to you." I said, playfully narrowing my eyes at him, the corner of his lips turning up.
"Doesn't make you less of a gremlin." He said and I shook my head.
"Am I at least a cute gremlin?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Sure." He said before facing forward again, a small smile dancing on my lips.
"Logan's an ugly one though." Henry piped up and Logan threw his hands in the air.
"You can't even see me you wet sock!"

"How about we stop here for a bit to eat something." Logan said and I nodded, glancing over to the group of tall brick buildings to our right. It looked like some sort of old factory place, the bricks starting to crumble, now dead plants crawling up the walls.
"Do you remember what happened the last time we stopped?" Ace said and I hesitated as we stepped in between two buildings.
"What are the chances of that happening again?" Logan asked and Henry responded.
"The chances are probably quite high, I bet they've got hundreds of people sweeping the area." He said and I bit my lip.
"Well if we don't eat then were going to die, then all of this was for noth-" Logan stopped as we all froze, our ears perking up as we heard the rumble of an engine approaching down the road.
"Let's go." Ace said and we quickly made our way to the back of the building, out of sight from the road.
The vehicle came to a stop and I held my breath as I heard several doors slide open and people jump out. I hoped it was just some workers, or even some teenagers coming here to hangout but luck didn't seem to be on our side today as I heard a gravelly voice.
"You know your positions, find them."
As soon as we heard that, I looked up to the group to see Ace signaling to keep moving forward.
Right as I pushed off the wall, my vision darkened slightly. I stumbled forward and Ace's head shot up to me.
"Charlotte." He said, jumping forward and grabbing my arms as I tried to clear my vision but it only got worse. I knew it wasn't a seizure, just a fainting spell.
"Take the map and go. Well catch up." Ace said quickly as I heard footsteps approaching.
I tried with everything I had to fight it, to make it go away but I slowly started to fade from reality, my head slipping back as my legs gave out but I felt Ace hold me up. Exchanging a few more words with the group that I couldn't make out.
I wanted to tell them to just leave me, to save themselves and go get help but I couldn't as I quickly slipped into the darkness, hitting a wall as couldn't fight it any longer.
I Just hoped Ace could get us out of here without getting caught.
