"Angelina, I know. The professor just said it." he said and turned his face away.

Woah! Not as interactive as I had expected him to be...

"But everybody calls me Angel," I whispered as to avoid being heard by Miss.Hershey.

Cole turned his face and looked at me as if trying to study my face carefully. Looking into those hazel eyes with long eyelashes filled me with warmth for some reason but at the same time, the blank and cold expression which they held made me want to look away. It was hard to decipher what was going on in his mind.

"I stay in the house right next to you..." I say hesitantly.

He looked at me, his lips turned into a smirk. He said, "I have seen you staring at me so I know,"

I blinked and said, "Sorry? I didn't get what you mean by this?"

"You don't know what you look at?" he said with the smirk more evident on his face than before.

This was enough to kill whatever little hope I had to be friends with him. He was arrogant and rude. I thought he was uncomfortable at a new place, talking to a new person. I was ignoring his disinterest. But I was wrong, he was just plain rude and egoistic.

"I was just curious as that house had been empty for a pretty long time," I said rolling my eyes.

"Whatever..." he said and looked away.

Why do all good-looking guys have to be such jerks!

The whole day went without any conversation between me and Cole. There were some occasional eye contacts but we both looked away in a jiffy.

After the lectures ended, I walked out of the university building. I saw Jessica, Ethan, Cole and Alex standing. I ran towards them. Alex took me into his embrace and planted a kiss on my cheeks.

"Gosh... I can't believe you guys are finally dating!" exclaimed Ethan.

"Yeah, you and Jessica are finally free of me being the third wheel..."

"It was never like that. You are our best friend, how can you even think that?" questioned Jessica.

"I was just kidding," I giggled and hugged them.

"This is Cole," introduced Ethan.

"We already know each other," I said with disinterest.

Alex suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled my back and asked: "How?"

I froze by the sudden jolt for a moment.

"I - I mean... when did you guys meet?" stammered Alex.

"We are classmates," said Cole looking at Alex.

Alex glared at him. Cole shifted his gaze to me and then back to Alex. Cole's stare was even colder. I felt utterly at unease at the way they were looking at each other.

"Let's go, I have some work to do." said Alex and held my hand.

I said goodbye to Ethan and Jessica and intentionally avoided looking at Cole because of the way he had behaved with me today. I really didn't think we could ever be friends.

We walked towards the car. Alex had a different expression on his face today, not the usual happy one I was used to seeing. I feel there's something between him and Cole that's bothering him. I need to figure it out soon.

We sat in the car and Alex started driving. We didn't talk halfway through the ride. The silence had started to make me restless. I took a deep breath and said, "You're behaving so weird today, is everything alright?"
