Chapter Sixteen

Katniss's Pov

Everything was fine. Principal Snow suspended Brady for the rest of the school year. Finnick's party was tomorrow and we were all friends again. Peeta and I went to the movies and he treated me out at a romantic dinner. God, I love him.

Annie and I went shopping after school for new bikinis. "How about this?" she asked, holding up a teal one with mini dolphins. "Ooh cute!" I squealed. We shopped for a while, then met up with Madge,Finch, and Glimmer, who got their nails done. We then met up with Clove,Johanna, and the boys who were at the arcade.

We headed over to the roller rink to skate. Clove dragged Cato out when the DJ said the couple dance. They are so cute together.

Before we knew it we were all dragging our boyfriends out. I put my arms around Peeta. "I love you," he whispered. "I love you too."

Annie's Pov

On Friday I put on my white ruffley shirt and a teal jean skirt and some white slip ons. The party was usually at Finnick's because it was the biggest and the easiest to get to since we all lived nearby, except District Twelve and Eleven. I packed my pajamas and swimsuit along with prank stuff. Just in case.

Madge's Pov

I would be carpooling in Gale's van with Katniss and Peeta. Along the way we would be picking up Thresh, Johanna, and Blight. Cato and Clove were probably carpooling with Marvel and Glimmer. Poor Finch would be alone. On the way to Finnick's and District Eleven and Seven we belted out music as loud as we could. People on the highway gave us stares, which we ignored. We drove for half an hour before we pulled up. Finch's light green car was there and so was Marvel's dark blue convertible.

Music blasted inside and we danced and ate chips. We slipped on our swim suits and ate cheese burgers and fries then we played an odd kissing game. It was timed and Finch and Thresh reached two minutes, Johanna and Blight got three minutes four seconds, Gale and I got three minutes eighteen seconds, Marvel and Glimmer got five minutes thirty-two seconds, Cato and Clove got seven minutes and two seconds, Finnick and Annie got seven minutes and eight seconds, and Katniss and Peeta got eight minutes and one second. They must do that a lot. After a while we digested when Clove and Annie pushed Cato and Finnick in at the same time. They both got out and pushed the girls in. Soon we were all wet and soaking. We played chicken and dived on the diving board. The boys had a contest who could make the biggest jump and the smallest. While I was tanning Gale heaved me into the water. "Gale!" I yelled. He laughed and Finch snuck up behind him and pushed him in. "Hey!" he yelled. "Thank you!" I called to Finch.

Annie's Pov

Finnick and I wrestled in the water. I jumped on top of his back and squealed as he threw me off. Soon it was all of us against Finnick. I was on his back, Clove was hanging on his legs, Madge was splashing him, Gale was using his water gun, Peeta was using silly string and spraying all over his hair, Cato who was getting the floatable raft with Katniss and Finch, Blight who was just eating an apple, Thresh was video taping this whole thing with Marvel, and Johanna and Glimmer who were putting water proof mascara in him.

We all heaved Finnick on the floatable raft and Marvel and Thresh put the camera on a stand and jumped in. We shoved Finnick in the deep end. He closed his eyes and relaxed. Aww. How cute. He thought we were going to let him relax. We snuck out of the pool and on the count of three we all jumped on him, making him scream. We burst into laughter as he shook his head at us.

At the end Finnick pulled me under and kissed me. And it was pretty much the best underwater kiss of all time.
