★13★ Be cruel to be kind

While Kanata's busy with her modelling, she assumed Kasamatsu was busy with his teammates, preparing for the Winter Cup. However, unknown to the pink haired girl, Kasamatsu was actually looking for something: Her grandparent's grave. 

Kasamatsu already told his teammates about it so he asked them for their help to look for it too. Kasamatsu wanted to find that grave before she finds out on her own.

He wanted to come clean from lying to her in order to be honest with her. He loves her. He doesn't want to lose her over him covering the harsh reality from her. If he does lose her, he only have himself to blame. But then again, she was suicidal at the time, she doesn't have much hope left, what if she decided to kill herself after learning her grandparent's death? Kasamatsu thought he was doing the right thing the whole time.

After much searching, Kasamatsu got his answer...

"I can't believe your grandparents know her grandparents..." Kasamatsu said to Kobori. 

"They live in the same care home so it's kind of expected. I asked them when I was visiting them the other day." Kobori explained. 

"I see..." 

"Their graves are here on this address. Are you sure it is the right time?" Kobori gave him the piece of paper.

"Yeah. I am just hoping she will be able to take it." Kasamatsu was a little hesitant to take the little piece of paper from Kobori. Now what will he do?

Kasamatsu already made it clear that he was dating Kanata to his parents. His parents doesn't have an issue with it because she's a nice girl and she helps around the house often. Kanata and his mother got along well with one another; Kanata and his mother goes shopping with one another to pick out clothes that's suited for a woman of her age and in return, Kanata learns cooking from his mother.

"You know what, son?" 

"Hm?" 

Kasamatsu and his father was watching TV while Kanata and his mother was in the kitchen, more cooking lessons to be taught in there. 

"Dating a model, that is something amazing." 

"Wha?!" 

"If you are considering marriage at a young age, I wouldn't blame you!"

"D-Dad..."

"Hahaha, but enough of the jokes, is there something on your mind?"

"Have you ever done the wrong thing to protect mom?" 

"Hm? that's a funny question... Hmm... I pretend to be buddy-buddy with her brother to not make her upset. Does that count?" 

"You never thought of being honest to her about it?" 

"If a little white lie doesn't hurt a person, there's nothing wrong with prolonging it. If you know a lie wouldn't kill anyone's trust, go for it. Ask yourself, would you upset someone with your cover-up?" 

"..." Kasamatsu thought about it and even he thought it would be devastating if you're the last to knowof the death of your own relatives. 

"I'm sure you know how to do the right thing."

"Yeah..." 

"You know? I thought it was only your name but you really are a fortunate man." 

"Huh?"
