Kasamatsu watched Kanata cry. She kept denying reality but nothing will change even if she did that. Denying reality will never change the fact the dead will never come back again. Kanata knew that. Yet, she wished for time to go back. 

"Senpai... Tell me it's a lie... Hey! Tell me it's a lie!!" She loved her grandparents. She loved them dearly. She always had fond memories with them because her memories with them were always happy and they always included her dead mother. If they're dead, it's like her mother dying again. She doesn't want anyone precious to her to die and leave her behind. She's scared of being left behind...

"..." Kasamatsu cannot tell her anymore lies. He shut his eyes and listened to the wind. 

"Kanata?" 

Kanata and Kasamatsu looked back to see Kanata's father. Her father was wearing a black suit. He looked at Kasamatsu with an unimpressed look and then at his own daughter. He's got flowers for his dead parents. He didn't say a thing when he went to pay his respects. 

"..." Kanata watched her father with tears in her eyes. 

"So you decided to show yourself... I've texted you many times. I called you many times to attend their funeral and you didn't even bother. I have so many relatives asking me where you. Are you having so much fun that family no longer matter to you?"

"Dad, I-" 

"You really are a despicable child..." 

"Dad, it's not that! My old phone broke and-" 

"You can stay here in Kanagawa for all I care. I don't care anymore, Kanata, I'm done. Don't bother coming home." Her father assumed those flowers by the grave was from Kanata so he picked it up and threw it at her. Kanata felt the bouquet of flowers hit her but she didn't budge. She was really hurt by reality and her own father's words.

Her father started walking away without looking back. He was so disgusted by Kanata to even look at her. In his mind, he kept telling himself that he does not have a daughter.

"Hey!" Kasamatsu followed Kanata's father. He shouldn't get himself involved in their family matter but he had to stand up for her. "Your own daughter is fucking suicidal! She's been coming to Kanagawa before summer holiday started and she's been trying to kill herself! How do you think she would take it if she found out the dearest people around her are dying?!" 

"She certainly didn't bother to care." 

"That's because I broke her phone!"

"Hmph."

"It's not your daughter's fault!" 

"This wouldn't have happened if she had just stayed home and be a good daughter from the very beginning. I was going to send her to a relative's house but you gave her a place to run to. She came to Kanagawa after our fight to come to you, right? If it weren't for you encouraging her to come over here, this would not have happened either! You stupid little boy!" 

"..." Kasamatsu never once saw it that way. He only saw her constantly getting hurt and he wanted to do something about it. And when he did, it caused a chain of events to happen. He never thought protecting her would end up slowly killing her...

 "You two stupid children..." Her father gave him a look that silently told him that he should be ashamed of himself for everything he has done. Kasamatsu stopped following her father, no longer knowing what else to say anymore.
