36- "Prepare For The Battle Of Death"

  *Emily's POV*

  It's the next day. We're all gathered in the woods. There's a small patch of woods where there's no trees, so we decided to train here.

  "Alright guys. We'll do this in pairs. Ray and Bob. Frank and Mikey. Emily and I. But first Mikey and I are gonna fight as an example. I'll use the same fighting tactics as Andy would." Gerard instructed.

  Mikey nodded his head and walked towards his brother. Gerard began to sprint at Mikey. Mikey quickly jumped over Gerard and caught the back of his shirt just in time.  He pulled on his shirt to stun Gerard momentarily.  Mikey clenched his fist harder and threw Gerard to the ground.  Mikey put his hands around Gerard's neck.  Gerard went to grab Mikey but before he could, Mikey let go of his neck and grabbed his wrists with one hand.  Mikey's other hand flew to Gerard's chest as if he was going to rip his heart out.

  Gerard tapped his foot on the ground twice, signalling Mikey to stop.  Mikey let go of Gerard and held his hand out to help him up.  Gerard stood up, coughing a little. 

  "Good job little brother.  Now, one of you in your pairs will be doing the same thing I just did.  I went easy on Mikey.  They will be much worse on you, their entire goal in this fight will be to kill us.  So don't hold back but don't kill each other. Emily you can use your power because you will need it in this fight, just control it so no one gets seriously injured. Ray and Bob, your turn.  Bob, you'll be doing the same thing I did but do not hold back.  Just don't kill Ray.  For now just try to get your opponent to the ground and pin them. " Gerard instructed.

  Gerard and Mikey walked over to where the rest of us were, while Ray and Bob went to the middle of the grounds where they would fight. 

  "Go!" Gerard yelled.

  Bob began to sprint towards Ray.  Ray dodged him and quickly sped around him.  Ray kicked Bob in his back, sending Bob to the ground.  Bob landed on his stomach.  Before he could get up Ray pounced on his back and pinned him there.

  "Alright that's enough.  Nice job." Gerard complimented.

  Ray and Bob walked back over to the rest of us.

  "Frank and Mikey, you're next.  Mikey, you're using the same tactics I did." Gerard instructed.

  The boys nodded and walked to the center of the grounds.  

  "Go!" Gerard yelled.

  Mikey sped towards Frank.  Before Mikey could get close enough Frank jumped up and disappeared.  I assume he went in one of the trees.  Mikey looked whipped his head in every direction looking for Frank.  Frank jumped out of a tree landing on Mikey's shoulders.  Mikey dropped to the ground with a thud.

  "That's good, alright come back over here." Gerard instructed.

  The two boys got up and walked back over to us.

  "Lets go Emily." Gerard instructed me.

  We walked to the center of the field.  

  "I'll be using the tactics." He said to me.

  He had a stupid smirk on his face.  He's planning something.

  "Now!" He yelled.  

  Gerard started rushing towards me.  Before he get to close I raised my hand and pushed it forward.  Gerard went flying into a tree, his back hitting the tree.

  "Ow fuck!" Gerard yelled holding his back.

  Oh shit I think I flung him into the tree too hard.  I sped over to him to help him up.

  "You okay?" I asked.

  He smiled devilishly and knocked me to the ground, pinning me there by my wrists.

  "Huh, this position seems awfully familiar." He said in a cocky tone.

  I kicked my leg upwards, hitting him where it hurts most.  He wheezed in pain and loosened his grip on my wrists.  I took the opportunity and flipped up over, pinning him to the ground.

  "You're right this does seem familiar." I said in a just as cocky tone.

  "Alright you win, get up." He strained.

  I got up off of him and helped him up off the ground.

  "Gerard outsmarted you." Bob taunted.

  "But I still won." I pointed out.

  "Like I said though, they won't be holding back, their objective is to kill us." Gerard brought up again.

  "So we keep training.  I'll use my powers more to see what I'm really capable of." I said.

  We all nodded.

  "I'm gonna go smoke a cigarette." Gerard said.

  "I'll come with you." I said.

  Everyone else agreed that they were going back to the house.  The walked off meanwhile Gerard and I walked deeper into the woods.  Gerard pulled out his cigarettes and took one.

  "Want one?" He asked.

  I nodded my head and took one from the pack.  He put the pack away and brought his lighter out.  He lit his own cigarette and then lit mine for me.  He took a long drag off the cigarette and tilted his head back.

  "You look so majestic when you do that." I joked.

  He laughed a little as I said that.

  "I'm a dragon." Gerard said before blowing a cloud of smoke in my face.

  "I'm a dragon too." I said.

  Gerard raised an eyebrow at me.  I took a drag off my cigarette and blew the smoke out of my nose.

  "The dragon lovers." Gerard joked.

  "Do you really think we'll win this fight?" I asked seriously.

  Gerard gave me a look before throwing his cigarette on the ground and stomping on it.

  "I know we will.  Yes, someone may die.  I can't lie, someone could die." Gerard said.

  I sighed out in worry.  I don't want any of us to die.

  I threw my cigarette down and stomped on it.

  "Emily...?" He asked.

  "Yes?" I answered back.

  Gerard leaned closer to me and cupped my face with his hands.

  "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared.  If I die Emily.." I cut him off there.

  "I'm not letting you die Gerard, don't you dare say that." I said.

  "Emily listen to me.  We don't know what will happen.  A lot of us could die, I can't lie about that.  Just promise me if I die, please take care of everyone for me. " Gerard asked.

  I sighed, I can't argue with him.

  "Fine, but what if I die Gerard?" I asked.

  "I'll take care of everyone, your death would tear this group apart." He said.

  "If you died everyone would be devastated." I said.

  "Let's just agree to fight like hell, just don't die on me please." He pleaded.

  "Okay." I sighed out.

  Gerard nodded and moved his hands to the side of my neck.  Gerard leaned down slightly and kissed me.

  "We should head back before they think we're fucking in the woods." I joked.

  Gerard laughed lightly at my words.

  "Yeah, we'll save that for another time." Gerard winked at me.

  We both laughed and walked back over to the house, hand in hand.
