(Hiccup's POV)
"Hiccup! She's diving toward the sea.'' Astrid called to me. We were closer now, and, to my surprise, she looked like a Night Fury, but it was still another Night Fury! She looked like she was in pain as she was flying, but we were chasing her. If she was hurt, we could heal her.
"Well bud. Looks like we don't have a choice. Give me a small blast. Just enough to stun her." Toothless nodded and a whistle pierced the air as he called up the fire that lived within his powerful body.
(Moon's POV)
I heard a whistle behind me as my wings sliced the air. I whirled around in panic and saw a white-blue fire blast heading toward me. The scavengers all had a sorrowful look on their faces as they looked at me. The dragons eyes were sympathetic.
I rolled and twisted quickly as the blast shot passed my face, missing it by a wingtip. I heard loud gasps behind me as I followed it with my eyes.
Surprisingly, it turned around and started heading back toward me.
Fire is NOT supposed to do that. I whirled around and shot toward the scavengers with amazing Skywing-fast speed that I didn't have before. Maybe even faster than Skywing speed.
Apparently they thought I'm was attacking them because the orange one suddenly lit on fire and his rider shrieked. The blue-yellow one's tail spiked up and her rider tensed. The green dragon with two heads let out some green gas and the other head's mouth started to spark, but his rider stopped him. The other twin rider's face lit up in excitement. The rainbow one's mouth glowed with fire as his rider looked at me in awe and fear. The brown one's mouth started dripping lava and her large rider put his hands on his face in excitement and fear. The grey-red one's two wings became four and I snorted with surprise as his rider patted the dragon soothingly. The glossy black one's mouth glowed blue as his body started glowing. His rider had a horrified face.
I know fire and spikes and lava usually means dragons are about to attack so the chances are high they are about to attack. Qibli's voice went off in my head. I shook my head, clearing it. Not the time to miss friends or have imaginary conversations with them.
(Hiccup's POV)
I watched as she rolled and twisted out of the way of Toothless' missile blast, and it flew passed her head. We all gasped in surprise.
She must be faster than I thought, doing that from a standstill. She spun around and followed it with her eyes as it turned and started heading towards her. She whipped around and shots toward us without any warning. I immediately notice the other dragons reacting with their natural defense and I panicked, looking at the dragon in horror as she looked up at us.
Toothless started glowing blue under me and called his fire. The dragon shook her head, as if frustrated.
"Nooo! Don't fire!" I cried in terror, yanking Toothless out of his protective mode. The riders immediately try to stop their dragons, but the dragons fire anyway, excluding Toothless. Barf gassed the area she was flying in and Belch ignited it as the other dragons send lava, magnesium, spikes, and fire her way. She didn't have time to escape. She was suddenly shrouded in smoke and I heard her coughing and roaring in pain. I peered through the smoke and saw her shake her head as it clears. The riders get their dragons under control and hang back; only my mom followed. A gasp escaped my lips as I noticed something about our new dragon. Next to her eyes and under her wings are silver scales, resembling stars.
How did I miss that? I pondered for a name. Star Fury. I smiled at the name, until I noticed her slowly losing altitude.
"Mom! Grab her before she falls into the water." I shouted. Cloudjumper whooshed passed me and snatched the dragon out of the air. The Star Fury let out a strangled cry in agony and anger. She started squirming and Cloudjumper had to rapidly adjust his talons in order to get a hold as he started losing his grip.
I sighed as I took out a tranquilizer dart and threw it straight at her neck. It hit its mark and the Star Fury roared in agony again. She went still but started growling in confusion and maybe slight anger. Her purple eyes turned to slits as I flew closer.
"Hey there, it's okay." I tried to soothe the agitated dragon. "We're not trying to hurt you, we just want to help." She growled fiercely as I held out a hand. "Let's take her to the academy." I shouted at my mom. My mom nodded as I waved for the riders to fly ahead.
(Moon's POV)
I hear a loud squeak and suddenly I was enveloped in smoke. I dodged most of the fireballs, but the one of the spines hit me under my wing. I coughed out smoke and let out an angry and pained roar.
Just like in the history cave. I mentally shook the smoke and screams out of my head, but it was difficult. I shook my head, trying to clear my eyes of the smoke and my head of the clamor of the other dragons.
I hope we didn't injure her for life.
Ouch. That must of hurt. I slipped the thoughts into raindrops with some difficulty and I realized that I had started to lose altitude slowly. I heard a loud screech-like squeak behind me. A whoosh of air passed by and I was suddenly in the grey-red dragon's talons. I managed to let out a strangled roar in rage and agony as the talons hit the spike embedded under my wing. I squirmed and felt the dragon's grip slipping. His rider patted his head as she side-glanced me. I suddenly felt a gentle prick in my neck and I let out a pained roar as the dragon nudged the spike under my wing with his talon.
I hope that it isn't a tranquilizer dart like the Rainwings have. I started to panicked in realization it was when my limbs and then my body couldn't move.
I growled and narrowed my eyes when the black dragon flew closer. He blinked at me as his scavenger held out a hand. He had emerald eyes, messy brown hair, and pale skin that was covered by brown scale-like clothing. He started squeaking quietly and I growled fiercely to tell him to back off. He did, and then squeaked loudly as the scavenger of the dragon who was holding me nodded. She turned her dragon around. The scavenger on the black dragon, which I called Loud-Squeak, waved his hand and all the other dragons except for the rainbow one headed for a faraway chain dome. I let go of the raindrops in slight exhaustion, letting their thoughts about me rush into my mind.
I'm gonna make her bed so warm with my awesome fire. The orange one with black stripes thought as the end of his tail sported a small flame.
I sleep on moss and leaves, not fire! I thought as his rider glanced back at me before urging his dragon faster.
I hope she likes fish, cause that is all we have. The brown stocky one thought as her rider stared at me in excitement.
I will eat nothing from you! I thought in rage, wrinkling my nose.
When she is trained we can learn how she fights. She seems like a good fighter. The blue and yellow spikey one thought as her rider soothed her tail down while looking at me sympathetically.
What is this trained business? I will not be trained by pets and scavengers who somehow amazingly captured me. And I
will NOT show you my fighting moves, just in case I have to use them on you to get out of this ridiculous place. I thought in outrage. I will not become one of their pets.
I hope we can blow stuff up together. The green one with two heads and yellow and red spots thought as the two twins on their back tried to swat each other with their hands.
I will blow nothing up, unless it gets me out of here. I thought, snorting softly so that no one would hear. Only the glossy black dragon that resembled a Nightwing and the Rainwing-like one escorted me toward the dome. Their thoughts were all jumbled and difficult to make out, so I slipped them back into raindrops. The scavenger on the glossy black dragon looked up at the rider above me and squeaked loudly.
Then the one above me squeaked in a soothing tone. I called her Soothe-Squeak. Both Soothe-Squeak and Loud-Squeak exchanged squeaks. I watched Loud-Squeak as he took out another dart. l felt a prick in my neck and everything faded to black.
(Hiccup's POV)
I noticed Stormfly's spine under her wing and furrowed my brows.
"Mom?" I shouted up at her.
"Yes, son?" She said gently.
"Should I tranquilize to a sleep state so she doesn't try to kill us or hurt herself?"
"If you think it would help secure her then yes, you should." The Star Fury watched me as I took out another dart. I threw the dart at her neck. Her head slowly drooped down after her eyes closed. I nodded in satisfaction and we flew slightly faster, knowing that she wouldn't try to escape or hurt herself.
"I hope we can train her and maybe become her friend. We could learn so much from her. Like where her home is, if there are any more of her kind or even completely different ones. We could-"
"Wow. Slow down son. We still have to get her to even like us after our capture of her against her will." My mom advised as we flew over the sea.
