(Moon's POV)

I slowly stood up and spread my wings majestically. I tried to poise in royal, queen-like way.

Try to get them to see that you are a danger and they have to let you go. Or at least make them respect you. Toothless hissed and head-butted Loud-Squeak and the scavenger turned around from the other two. I stared at him, refusing to blink. He stared back with emerald green eyes. I turned back around after he blinked once and snorted crossly. I heard feet behind me and I whipped around, ready to attack if someone was going to touch or hurt me. It was Loud-Squeak. He was holding out his hand and he had he head turned to face the other direction. Doesn't he know he's exposing himself to anything I do? I could attack him right now and he wouldn't be able to react in time. I stared at the hand for longer than I should have and I surprisingly picked up a thought from the scavenger. I usually am not able to hear them think.

As soon as she touches my hand, we have completed the first step of training.

No. No training.
I turned away and trotted to the other side of the stone arena. Sighs echoed behind me. I'll refuse to do whatever they want me to do. Eventually I'll escape, with or without help.

(Hiccup's POV)

I decided to go up to the Star Fury after she turned away from us. I stepped closer to her and she whirled around. I held out my hand and turned my head away from her. I held my breath and waited for her.

As soon as she touches my hand, we have completed the first step of training. I was out of breath and I looked up. She had trotted over to the other side of the arena. I sighed heavily with Fishlegs and Astrid. I walked toward Mom and Astrid, hoping they would have answers.

"It's the first day son. It was likely she didn't even like us in the first place." Toothless snorted from where he was standing by my shoulder and rumbled in an amused way. I glared.

"Yeah Hiccup. Maybe it will take a longer path for her to trust us, but she will eventually." Astrid sighed as she placed a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to the sound of the gate opening and saw Fishlegs walking in carrying a bucket of fish. The Star Fury's head lifted but she didn't bolt like I expected her too.

"Thought she might be hungry, you know, after the whole tranquilizer capture." Fishlegs said, looking excited but also nervous.

"I would leave it here Fishlegs. She's not the 'trusting at first' type." I sighed again as he shuffled his feet, looking disappointed.

"Okay." He set down the fish. We turned around and headed out the door.

"C'mon bud." I whisper-shouted to Toothless. He looked back at the Star Fury as he made a gurgling sound before following me.

(Moon's POV)

After I heard the gate shut I hopped up and walked over to the basket they left me. I felt multiple pairs of eyes on me. As I neared it, it continued to smell worse and worse, like the inside of a rotten coconut. It was fish. Rotten fish.

Don't they have a fresh deer or cow or at least fresh fish that I could eat instead? I may as well show them that not all dragons like rotten fish. I shot my fire at it, which was purple for some reason, and it went up in flames. I heard shouts of surprise from the scavengers and dragons alike. I huffed a snort of smoke and shouted at the blue-yellow spikey dragon.

"Do you have a cow or sheep or something fresh that I can eat?" I called up at her as I walked toward where she was standing above me.

"Uhh, all they have for the dragons is fish. The sheep and yaks are vital to the humans survival."

Humans? What an odd term for scavengers. But still, why don't you have fresh fish?

"If they can't supply me with the right food, then why are they keeping me?" I asked angrily.

"All dragons here eat fish. They thought you would too, but they were wrong." The dragon looked awkward as I glared but she continued. "My name is Stormfly, what is yours?"

Seriously. What is with these dragons and names? You're trying to feed me rotten fish!

"Moon and, I, DON'T, EAT, ROTTEN, FISH." I hissed in anger at the scavengers dumbness.

What kind of sane dragon eats rotten fish? Turtle might, but he lives in the ocean. It is understandable, I guess.

"Um, I don't know what to do." Stormfly said as she flicked her wingtips in worry. I lost it. I snarled and flung myself at the dragon on the other side of the chains. My side screamed at me to stop, but I ignored it and clung to the bars. I dropped down after a moment after I couldn't reach her. She still took off as the other dragons tensed.

She is taunting me! I bared my teeth at her. The blond girl ran up and placed herself between the flying dragon and the one in the ground trapped by chains. squeaking fiercely. I named her Fierce-Squeak as I slunk away into the shadows. Maybe if I give them what they want, they will let me go, like Toothless said. I heard the gate creak open but I didn't relax. I blinked in surprise when Loud-Squeak walked in with a stick. He slowly trotted over to a rock I didn't notice before and sat down as Stormfly landed. His back was turned toward me and I huffed as my curiosity got the better of me. I stalked over to him and peered over his shoulder. He was drawing bat-like wings in the thin covering of dirt on the ground. I narrowed my eyes.

I can do that too. I thought, mildly impressed with the scavenger's simple skills. I stuck my sharp talon into the dirt and started drawing Turtle. I detailed his glow-in-the-dark-stripes and quickly finished the gills before thinking of Kinkajou.

I started to draw my Rainwing friend. I shaded the dirt so it kind of looked like she was changing colors. I added her fangs shooting her deadly venom.

Next, I moved onto Umber and Carnelian, even though they were both gone in different ways. I made sure Carnelian's huge wings were spread like she was flying free in the clouds. I detailed Umber's gentle face as I imagined him saving Sora. Fire was shooting from their mouths as I finished. I saved the hardest for last. My closest yet furthest friends': Winter and Qibli.

I sketched Winter's head with his spikes and frost-breath as I imagine his shining white scales with hints of blue underneath. I couldn't detail that, but I was careful with how I drew his spines and fierce expression. I moved to Qibli as guilt stung me.

I drew his head with fire shooting from his mouth and his expression in a thoughtful way. I carefully scratched out the rest of his body and detailed his tail. I stopped for a moment as I twitched my tail. I pondered if I should draw me in my true dangerous form. I decide to because the information wouldn't be complete if I didn't.

I make my expression thoughtful as I make sure to draw in the silver scales by my eyes and on my wings. I added the names and tribes of my friends. I double checked my work before I nodded and cooed in approval. I saw the scavenger stand up and turn around.

The scavengers and dragons at the top of my prison had said nothing even though the one that gave me the basket was rapidly drawing on a piece of paper. Loud-Squeak had been done drawing for a while but he was giving me time. He gasped with surprise as he took a step forward. He walked over to the first drawing and gently stepped on Turtle's gills. I growled and narrowed my eyes. He gently lifted his foot and I stopped. He stepped on it again and as I growled in slight confusion and anger.

Is he just trying to spite me into attacking him? He will not step on my friends even if they are just drawings that I worked hard on. The next time he lifted his foot I was ready to attack. He lifted his foot as I tensed and to my surprise, stepped over Turtle's neck. I blinked in surprise and stopped growling as I relaxed slightly. I stood on my two hind legs and watched as he moved around and tried not to step on my art.

Loud-Squeak made an awe-like ohh in admirement at Qibli and Winter as he continued to side-step, back-step, and side-shuffle. He continued slowly as he came closer to me and I cocked my head. He was still looking at them as he bumped into my stomach. My side flared in pain but I ignored it. He froze. I sniffed his hair for a minute. It smelled kind of like fish and sheep wool.

Strange scavenger. He turned at the pace of a tortoise and started to slowly hold his hand out. I growled slightly and then he turned his head away, exposing himself. I relaxed and stared at the hand as I blinked gently. I made my choice in my self-conscious. My snout slowly moved forward, stopped for a split-second, then it continued. I touched his hand and he visibly relaxed. Realizing what I just did, I snorted and ran away as I shook my head.

What did I just do?! I'm letting them control me! Maybe if I just ignore them for the rest of the time I'm here. I gave them what they wanted. They should let me go. I thought as I darted to the other side of the arena.
