(Moon's POV)

Let's talk about my mind-reading later." I said, feeling uncomfortable.

Why, oh, why, did I let that slip? Clay, Peril, Winter, and Qibli shook their wings and then take off, pumping their vast wings. Hiccup mounted Toothless, who took off with the other dragons of the riders. I took off a moment later and blasted passed everybody. I shook my head to clear the visions crowded in my mind. I landed on the ledge to the entrance cave. I heard Queen Glory approaching with Sunny and Tsunami. I trotted into the entrance cave and crashed into nothingness.

"Moon!" Queen Glory wrapped her camouflaged wings around me. The other two threw themselves on top of Glory and me. I suddenly found it hard to breath.

"Get... off... me..." I gasped in-between breaths. They hopped up hearing my message, Queen Glory still camouflaged. "Can you stay camouflaged please Queen Glory?"

"Sure. May I ask why?"

"I found some new dragons with scavengers riding them. It's really cute and I'll answer your questions later." I said quickly, noticing had Tsunami opened her mouth and closed it again. "I want to surprise them. Can you stand right behind this orange one and surprise him? It will be funny. I'll flick my tail when you can go." I heard everybody land on the ledge. "Is that okay? And watch out because he can set himself on fire if he wants to." I said hurriedly.

"Yes." Came the whispered reply. "And I will watch out. Thanks Moon." She slithered over to a corner where she could surprise Hookfang. Clay walked in with Peril, Qibli, and Winter. I peered around them and saw the dragon riders looking unsure if they should come inside or not.

"You can come in." I called. They followed the front group in. Hookfang came in last.

Perfect. Hiccup dismounted and Sunny snatched him in her claws gently. She peered at him closely.

"You look like someone I met once." She said softly. Hiccup blinked at her and reached up to poke her snout. She giggled and flicked her tongue out at him while setting him down. Toothless didn't seem bothered by this, to my surprise. Hiccup started staring at Tsunami. His eyes scrape over her features from talons to tail: gills, webbed talons, and glow-in-the-dark-stripes. I picked up a thought from Queen Glory directed at me and focused.

Moon. Flick your tail when you are ready. I'm in position.

Good. I flicked my tail and Glory materialized in front of Hiccup. Wrong spot, but it is still hilarious. He jumped back with a sharp shout. The other scavengers stared at her in surprise. She blinked and flashed her colors from pink to blue to firefly gold with silver along her wings. The scavenger and dragon jaws dropped open as she changed color. Tsunami and Sunny shook with laughter they were trying to keep in.

"Wow." Hiccup murmured. Queen Glory dipped her long neck toward the ground. She stopped moving when she was inches away from brushing the cave floor. Hiccup took a couple steps forward and touched Queen Glory's snout with his hand. She hissed gently at the sudden touch and he jumped back. Her sloth, Silver, came out from behind her ruff and he leapt back some more.

"Moon. What is that and that and that?" Toothless asked, pointing at Queen Glory, Tsunami, and the sloth.

" 'That' is a Rainwing and my queen, Queen Glory." I replied, pointing at Queen Glory. " 'That' is a Seawing named Tsunami." I moved my paw to Tsunami. " 'That' is a sloth from the rainforest and her name is Silver." I glared at him, hissing fiercely. I dipped my head toward Queen Glory and rose up on my two back legs.

"Can I go see the other students of Jade Mountain and then head to the Kingdom of the Sand, Queen Glory?" She nodded and I ran down the tunnel. I heard light and heavy talons thumping after me. I twisted my head around and saw Qibli, Winter, Toothless, Cloudjumper, and Stormfly following me, with Hiccup, Hiccup's mom, and Astrid. I grinned at them and hurried to the prey-center. It took a little longer since I was smaller. I ran passed the sleeping caves and a few curious snouts poked out. I heard exclamations of surprise as I ran by.

"It's a mini Nightwing!" A Mudwing student I recognized as Sepia yelped.

"It's another Nightwing! I thought they were almost all gone!" Boto, a Rainwing, gasped. I skidded to a stop right outside the prey center cave and cautiously stuck my head in. Most of the remaining students were there. I walked in and everybody whipped their head around and stared at me.

"Who are you?" Thrush the Skywing asked.

"My name is Moonwatcher and-" I stopped as a thundering headache hit me. All the minds in the room were very loud and they were all thinking about me so it was difficult to use the raindrops.

"Moonwatcher is a lot bigger than that." Changbai, an Icewing, said coldly. She walked over, leaving her friends behind her, who were watching with smug expressions.

Alba and Ermine. Winter introduced me to them, which they didn't looked pleased about. I heard talons thunder in like a troop of monkeys behind me. Winter and Qibli got defensive while the rest cowered behind Toothless, who was glowing blue again.

"An animus made me this way on accident while trying to keep me safe." Alba sniggered.

"Oh, really?" Changbai hissed slowly. "And who was this animus?" I gulped.

"A secret animus."

They can't know about Turtle. Ermine bursts out laughing and then clamped her talons around her snout to keep herself quiet. Alba was shaking with quiet laughter.

"Leave her alone Changbai." Winter said menacingly. Qibli raised his tail for emphasis.

"Okay, Prince Winter." I saw him wince at the sarcasm and knew Changbai hit a soft spot. "Whose your new friend? With scavengers? My my, I didn't know you had a taste for scavengers."

"I don't eat them like you would. I study them and their habits. Now leave." He snorted a burst of ice crystals to help her with the decision. She turned to go back to her friends as Hiccup's mom gasped. At what I'm not sure.

I turned around and saw Peril had come in and set a scroll on fire. The scavengers turned and yelped with surprise as she set another one on fire.

"Help me put it out!" She screeched. Clay, who I had not seen or heard come in, thumped over and stood on the fire. The flames soon went out and I turned back around and saw Hiccup, Astrid, Hiccup's mom, Toothless, Cloudjumper, and Stormfly gaping.

Oh, right. Clay and I must have forgotten that tip about Mudwings.

"She-she set it on fi-fire by touching it and I didn't see her lig-light on f-fire and then he-he just stood on the fire and it didn't b-burn him at all in any way." Toothless stammered. "Kind of like Hookfang but you can see the fire on him. And I know we're fire-resistant, but not fire-proof." He continued. He shook himself and nudged Hiccup, who was still gaping. Hiccup shook his head, blinking. He rubbed Toothless' head. He cooed and trilled, letting out a burst of flame through his nose.

"I must have forgotten to point out that some Mudwings born from blood-red eggs have the ability of resistance to fire. I am one of those Mudwings. Peril here is a Skywing that is on fire all the time." Clay informed them.

"Not that I had a choice. Well I did if I went with Chameleon (or my father) but I chose not to. And Kestrel didn't mean to have an egg with twins and one didn't have enough fire and one that had to much fire, who is me." Peril said snorting angrily.

"It's a good thing you did. Otherwise you would have ended up in the Scorpion Den with my killer grandfather, who by the way, is still a little mad about what we did to his 'amazing' plan." Qibli interjected.

"Whatever." Peril said haughtily starting to stare at Clay. Qibli started staring at me again, even though we broke-up. Winter was staring at Stormfly, which I found odd.

"What did we miss?" Hookfang, Snoutlout, Barf, Belch, the twins, Queen Glory, and Tsunami ran in.

"Changbai had an argument with us, Peril set two scrolls on fire, Clay put it out, and the scavengers are acting like it was a huge bomb going off and we didn't notice. Also, Moon let it slip on the way here that she could read minds and the new dragons and scavengers reacted badly." Winter said this all in a rush. He finished his work by grabbing a dead fish and popping it into his mouth.

"Moon, do you want to come hunting?" Qibli asked.

"Sure Qibli." I waved to the students and I spread my wings. "Come with us you guys. We'll stop by to pick up Cloudjumper, wherever he is. Where is he?" I asked Queen Glory.

"In the front entry way with Sunny. And Moon." She said with a stern look. "When you come back from your tours of the tribes, we will be talking about the mind reading. I will be in the rainforest, so come there last, okay?"

"Yes Queen Glory." I answered. "Come on." I added the rest of the group. I ran out, and everybody followed my lead. We took the same route back to the entrance cave. When I arrived, I saw an amazing sight. Sunny was flying loops around the cave, with Hiccup's mom balancing on her head. They flew a loop and circled tightly, before landing with a soft thump. Nobody said anything. Hiccup's mom waved to Sunny and she waved back. Hiccup's mom mounted an amazed looking Cloudjumper and we flew out.

"I saw a herd of goats moving that way." He pointed to the desert.

"Let's hurry then and show off our skills." I shouted back. We quickly pumped our wings and I eventually see a tightly packed herd of goats moving along in a slow trot. "I'll get the first one." I yowled gleefully. I dove quickly and snagged a goat in my smaller talons. The rest of the herd panicked and bolted for short cover-trees. I gave a killing bite with my teeth as I flew up toward the others. I saw Qibli and Winter nod and then they dove through a cloud. Panicked bleating could be heard below. I saw Toothless and the rest fly closer.

"That's why you don't like fish."

"That's why you blew up our fish." Toothless and Hiccup said at the same time.

No, I didn't like it because it was rotten. They glanced at each other and smiled. Hiccup's mom and Astrid laughed. I swiped my tongue around my bloody jaws and laughed along with them. Maybe they aren't so bad.
