Chapter 7

( Claire's view )

" Ok now " Minho half shouted signalling me to start running he stood with a stop watch in hand as me and Thomas ran from one wall to the other I was ahead of Thomas by a good 6-8 feet Minho looked surprised

" Come on Thomas don't let the greenie beat you " Minho yelled as I was just a few feet from the wall I quickly sped up Minho stopped the watch and smirked

" wow greenie 2 minutes and 12 seconds " Minho said as Thomas finally caught up

We spent about 15 minutes running laps trying to push me to my limits which had already proven to be really hard to do because I had beat Minho almost Everytime except for when I tripped over a rock

After training I snuck back to the homestead and pretended that I just woke up I softly shook Newt's shoulders waking him up

" It's about time to get up and ready Newt " I softly said as I heard others start to wake up

I smiled as Newt sat up with his bed Head hair which I couldn't help but find cute

Newt quickly got ready and we made our way to the kitchen getting our breakfast as we sat down Alby came up telling me that I'd be working in the gardens today as a track hoe I nodded smiling even though it wasn't what I truly wanted to do it still meant that I was gonna get to spend the whole day with Newt when I looked up from my food I caught his eyes he smiled while blushing before nervously looking away

Crap she caught me I thought while eating the rest of my breakfast I was glad that today Alby actually making Claire do the job I've been waiting for him to

While she ate her food I couldn't help but think of the dream I had last night I was holding her in my arms as wicked out us back in our cell she had passed out due to the pain from the wires they attached to her I wiped away the blood around her mouth I brushed her hair away from her beautiful face I begged her to wake up her nose began to bleed I couldn't hold it anymore i began crying I watched as Minho looked at me with sympathy in his eyes that's when Claire began coughing blood she rolled over and threw up a dark red / black liquid

I was suddenly snapped back to reality by Claire calling my name

" Newt are you ok " I asked softly he had zoned out which I've never seen him do he quickly nodded and said he was just tired since he didn't sleep well I felt bad since it probably was my fault

Before I could think about it to much we were on our way to the gardens where Zart had me weaving baskets jokes were said which I laughed to and couldn't help but think this wasn't to horrible

Every now and then I'd catch Newt looking at me once in awhile I'd wave that's when Zart sat next to me and said I think he likes you I just shook my head blushing at the thought that the beautiful kind British boy ever liking someone like me like that

I watched as Zart said something that made Claire shake her head and blush the feeling in my chest grew stronger as the feeling of a pit in my stomach grew as well I knew I was jealous of the other glader's when they had Claire's attention

I hurried with harvesting the rest of the tomatoes that were ripe and walked over to Claire for a new basket she smiled up at me as she handed me the one she just finished up that's when frypan came with the bucket of drinking water Claire smiled before telling me to wait right here as she ran up to frypan she turned around with two cups in hand

" Here you go Salamander " she said with a soft laugh While handing me a cup which I gladly excepted

The pit in my stomach disappeared and was replaced with a hurricane of butterflies

As we called it day after many many hours of tending the gardens my mind wondered to Thomas did he know that he worked for wicked did he know that he sent us all her and then I wondered why was he here why was he the greenie before me why had wicked sent him up to the maze before I could go any deeper in thought I was snapped out of it by the boys yelling

I rushed up to where the noise was coming from and I saw Gally up in Newt's face by Newt's expression whatever was said clearly pissed him off as i got close I heard my name brought up

I made my way through the crowd of boys to see Gally shove Newt causing Newt to stumble something in me snapped I  shoved everyone out of my way and stepped into Gally's abandoned circle

" Hey Gally how about you leave Newt the hell alone  asshole " I snapped getting the attention of every glader Gally turned to me a evil smirk appeared on his face

" Why you have such a dirty mouth Claire I wonder what else's it can do ....but  sure thing baby if you agree that you'll be mine ...as in my girlfriend " he smugly said

" I will .....if you can beat me in the circle unless your a pussy and can't fight me " I said equally as smug he just laughed and said deal and I'll take it easy on you  "
I just smirked before I told " him not to "

"Claire don't do this it's crazy you could get hurt " Newt said I just shook it off I was sick off Gally I was sick of how he treat everyone
