Blood Red (lemon)

Chapter 1

I was walking down the gloomy, worn forest trail, listening to the musical bird songs of the Japanese bush warbler or the uguisu (ウグイス). I jumped as I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"It's OK Ella, it's just me Jordan. I'm sorry I scared you like that. I didn't mean to."

I let out a sigh of relief, I didn't realize I had been holding my breath.

"It's OK. I'm just jumpy tonight." I lower my voice so that I am sure he can't hear it." for some reason." He just nods. After we walk in silence for a while he asks,

"Can I trust you?"

"Depends. What do you want to entrust me with?" I ask him in the dark.

"A secret." He says stopping and turning to look at me. I keep silent, waiting for him to talk but instead, he moves forward, and instinctively I back up, staring into his eyes like a young hare who locked eyes with a hungry wolf. He backs me up against an old cherry tree, and he moves till he's right in front of me, so close that we're sharing the same breath.

He puts his hands on the tree beside me. He sighs, and says softly, "First, I don't want to scare you, so if it's too much, tell me, and I can go." He waits while I shake my head. "Second, is half of the truth. I am a vampire. Third I am really thirsty," I send him a scared look and he adds hastily, "But I don't take from the unwilling, are you willing?"

"Only if I can tell you something." he waits, and I'm glad that it's so dark out, so he

can't see me blush.

"I really like you. Alo-" I am cut off by the look in his eyes. Agreement. Total Agreement. He leans closer until his mouth is next to my ear. I shiver and flinch a little.

"you never fully answered my question, Ella," he says, sending more shivers down my spine.

"y-yes," I say and I feel him smile against my neck. All of a sudden...

BANG!!!

"Shit!!" He yells grabbing my wrist.

"Whats going on?" He doesn't answer me, he just grabs me and flips me bridal style. All of a sudden we are zooming through the woods.

"Vampire Hunters!" he yells over the wind.

"How do you know that they're Vampire hunters?" I yell as we get close to lake blood moon.

"I can sense them. Hold on tight!!!" He yells, pulling me closer to his chest. I snuggle as deep as I can as he jumps. As we're soaring over the water, I hear a whiz somewhere nearby and feel a sharp pain in my left arm. I let out a small scream. "Are you OK? I need you to hang in there OK?"

I see that we are near a huge mansion, Wait this mansion seems eerily familiar, then it all comes back to me. "My old mansion" I whisper, as the coating on the bullet and the pain were draining my power to move.

"Shh. it's OK. After they get you fixed I can come back. The blood is killing me."

"Put me down for a minute. Please." He puts me down and as I sway he grabs my hips to keep me from falling. I speak through heavy, labored breaths full of pain from standing up, but also has his hands so close, on my hips. " back... Me up against something. Please." he nods and backs me up gently. I hit a wall. I grab his shirt with one hand and move my neck. " Drink," I say, grabbing his head and pulling down. He pulls away for a second to hold me up better. He gently lowers his mouth to my neck.
