Hello, my dear readers,

I usually do a little author's note after the book's done to show you guys why I did what I did, and what I like and don't like, and what I could have done better, so here I am again... and this is gonna be a long one, so buckle up.

Ahh, where to start?

How this book came to be is kind of a funny story actually. As you all (should) know, it all started with I Still Need, where Hugo, Floyd and Dylan came to be the couple? triple? they are today, in Faceted.

After falling in love with Hugo's little sister Eve, I wrote a book about her called In Real Life, and in that book, Mason and Kenny were introduced for the first time.

However, it was my turn to burst out laughing when he told me that his roommate, Mason, had caught him making out with Floyd in the hallway. No need for him to come out of the closet to Mason anymore, I guess.

Fortunately for Hugo, he didn't mind.

"Does Floyd have a roommate, too?" I asked him.

"Yeah, some guy named Kenny. I wish we could switch..." He sighed. "I could share the room with Floyd."

Me being the crazy author that I am, I instantly fell in love with Mason and Kenny, even if this was literally all I knew about them at this point lol. I started daydreaming about the idea that they'd get their own book too...

And then I had this wonderful idea. After reading many, many gay books on Wattpad and getting thoroughly pissed off by the hateful comments directed at the girlfriends of the main characters, who'd done nothing wrong, simply because it said "BxB" in the title, I wanted to write a book where the readers would actually feel sorry for the girlfriend. I wanted everyone to be so torn between the two love interests that they didn't even know what they wanted anymore.

The only problem with this plan was that I wouldn't even know what I wanted myself, but I'll get into that later.

Anyway, with this plan in mind, I started writing, and believe it or not, the book started with the scene where Kenny and Mason were playing cards and Kenny kissed Mason (which turned out to be chapter 10 in the current version).

I decided later on that I needed more background and that I should be writing the introduction from Kenny's POV because he was the one who'd been hardcore crushing on Mason since childhood. It felt weird to just stumble into the story without giving any background information.

So I started rewriting and it's kinda funny to see the original draft now, because Kenny was a completely different person!

Don't be alarmed...

Kenny stared at the ceiling. "Imagine the sex, Mason."

I gasped. "Jesus fucking Christ, Kenny..."

"What? I bet they're orgasming left and right like they're on the fucking Oprah Winfrey Show. You get an orgasm! You get an orgasm! Everybody gets an orgasm!"

"I know, I'm kinda jealous."

(...)

"Aw, you were doing so well," he said with a sigh. "Seems like you failed."

"I... I failed? You..." I grabbed the front of his shirt. "Kenny, what the fuck?!"

He grinned and said, "No homo, though."
