He checked out multiple cookbooks, an adventure novel, and also a book about romance.
He needed to make sure the social cues hadn't changed in the last centuries.
At his house, Hunter stayed up all night trying to bake the perfect batch of cookies, but he
soon realized Alex wouldn't even be able to taste it fresh so, his plan of giving cookies to him as
a birthday present was ruined. He decided he would just eat the cookies and get Alex another gift
later. He took a bite out of a cookie but instantly spit it out.
"This cookie is horrible!" Hunter thought. "This isn't worthy of Alex's taste buds." He
tossed the cookies and checked the clock.
It was already 12:30 am. Hunter hadn't realized it had gotten so late. He went to sleep
and, in the morning, went out to find Alex another birthday gift.
Hunter walked the store, just a generic store, Hunter was pretty sure it was named
"Store!!!". It had mostly everything you would need besides books, groceries, and bread. Hunter
hoped it had a gift to make Alex fall in love.
Once inside he wasn't sure what to get Alex. For as much as they talked Hunter didn't
know what Alex liked. He walked through the aisles and the more he thought about it the sadder
he got. He was just about ready to give up and go home, when he spotted a bracelet hanging by itself on a shelf next to a gumball machine. It was a white with dark blue striped chevron style friendship bracelet. Hunter thought it
was perfect. It had a mix of Hunter and Alex's favorite colours and the dark blue made it manly
enough so Alex wouldn't put off by the fact that it was a bracelet.
He looked around and skedaddled out of the store with the bracelet tucked away in his
jacket pocket. Hunter had no job and therefore no money, but he really needed the bracelet so he was sure the store owners wouldn't mind.
