Their Tale

that fell down a hole...

At first, Chara was confused. They didn't realize that they fell. They couldn't tell how deep the hole was, which scared them even though they had been so eager to jump down the hole. "Oh... I tripped" It occurred to the child. Chara relaxed, knowing that their life should be over soon. They wouldn't have to deal with the pain and hardship. A small smile formed on their lips. Chara squinted their eyes, and in the distance, they saw a small patch of green. The color of unhealthy grass. Chara closed their eyes, and spread their arms and legs. They felt the wind in their hair, and waited until they hit the ground. Despite being ready, at the impact of the fall, Chara's body tensed, and the world went black.
