You visited the old house that belonged to your mother. It still looked neat since she has hired some servants and maids to take care of the house.

The lights inside the house were still on. You rang the doorbell and waited for a response.

The door swung open, revealing a man with his gray hair tied up and a wrinkled face. The said man is wearing a butler suit with a silver badge on his vest. He didn't notice you until he looked down from the porch step and saw your familiar face.

"Ah, my little darling!" The old man suddenly rushed to you and hugged you tight. His face is so familiar.

He broke the hug and smiled at your grown figure.

And at that moment, you realized.

This was the man who took care of you and watched over you since you were little.

"Do-hyun! I remember you now!" You gave him a genuine smile and hugged him again. He guided you inside the house and closed the front door as soon as you two stepped in.

"¹ 우리 엄마는 어디 계시 니?" You spoke the only phrase that you knew in Korean. Do-hyun looked surprised that you could still remember one of his tutor lessons.

"² 그녀는 자고있다." You really had no idea what he said so you stared up at him with a confused expression.

He cleared his throat before speaking, "I mean, she's asleep," He eventually lead you to the living room, leaving you be to prepare some tea for you. You inspected the place and it seems there had been some changes.

It has been a while since you visited your mother. Yeah, you were born in another country, however soon enough you two moved to South Korea and was quick enough to choose her final decision to live here in peace.

Suddenly, you remember your father.

You came to your mother to be comforted and be free from the stress, but then your father.

How long has it been since he passed away? You thought to yourself, still remembering how much he loved you and how he spoiled you with hugs and the things you wanted since you were a little girl. Now that you thought about it, your father sent Do-hyun to take care of you while he was away.

His passing suddenly brought sadness to your life. You felt tears coming, so you had to stand up and enter a random room that you didn't pay attention to.

You locked the door and slid down to the floor, hugging your legs close while sobbing uncontrollably. You tried to pipe down but you just couldn't. You were your dad's little girl.

You wiped your tears and walked towards the mirror that stood in the corner of the room.

You inspected your face and moved closer.

I'm a goddamn mess. You sighed. Took a step to the side and felt like you step on something hollow.

"Wh-?" You let out a little noise as you stepped on it again, making sure it was the right spot. You knelt to it and saw a square outline. You dug your fingers in and pulled the wooden cover out. You checked what was inside and saw a rectangular box.

Out of curiosity, you pulled the box out and surprisingly, it didn't have any locks or password. You opened the lid and saw two pictures, a letter and a wedding ring.

First, you inspected the two pictures. The first picture was an old photo of your father, a woman you didn't know and a little boy you also didn't know. None of them looked familiar except for your father's face. It also looked like the picture was taken in another scene. They looked too serious in the picture.

So many questions went through your mind. If only he didn't go, then you would've asked him about the picture.

Then, the next picture. There, you could actually recognize some people in the second picture.

There was your father again in the picture, then your mother beside him smiling along with you when you were a little girl, standing between your parents while holding your old teddy bear. In this photo, it looked like you were a happy family.

The photo was taken in front of your mother's home.

You put the photos in the box and pulled out the letter. Seeing the letter was filled with hangul, you decided to come back to it later once you've learned to speak Korean, write and read Hangul.

I'll need someone to teach me.
