Trevor and Sypha had gone together to wave the Speakers off, while you and Alucard stayed back at the Speakers (previous) broken down shack. You wanted to say goodbye as well, but everyone decided that if they were going to split up, it would be best to stay in groups of two. And then you may add, well why didn't they switch up the groups of two? Well Trevor and Alucard didn't get along very well, and Sypha and you were worried to leave them alone. Also Sypha had to go say goodbye to her family and it would be selfish to take her place. Plus, what's better than to put the two non-humans together? Though, you didn't really know if Alucard had really processed you were there, since you were lingering just outside (within earshot) and he was talking to himself, well his father, Dracula which he drew in the dirt. It felt as if you were intruding in a private conversation.
"Alucard, they called me. The opposite of you. Mother never liked that. Did you know? She hated the idea that I might define myself by you." Now he started to draw his, what you presumed, mother. She was very pretty. "Even in opposition to you." By now you were debating on wether you should leave or not. "She loves us both, enough that she wanted us to be our own people, living our own lives....making our own choices. And so, here I am....choosing to honor my mother by killing my father." He made a line through the drawing of Dracula. "No longer Adrain Tepes. Choosing to be Alucard of Wallachia, the name of my mothers people." A tear fell over the drawing of his mother. "I'm sorry, Mother." You wanted to say or do anything in order to comfort him, but you weren't even sure if he knew you had been there the entire time. That's when Trevor and Sypha had arrived back, walking into the shack, with you going in a few seconds before them. "And so, we begin again." Alucard said, as he finally scratched out the picture of his mother.
"Hey, (F/n), were you standing outside the shack the whole time?" Trevor asked, which made you flinch as flush red.
"W-what?! No!" You were worried Alucard would know you were lying, so you looked in his direction in order to confirm or deny that fact. To your contempt, he gave a knowing look, with an eyebrow raised. You sighed in defeat and lowered your eyes from the others, you were quite flustered.
Sypha only smirked and rolled her eyes, ignoring what was said, "So, how do we proceeded?"
"Have the Speakers left?" Alucard questions.
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry. In success, you will see them again soon, in far happier circumstances." You gave a small smile at the reassurance Alucard gave Sypha.
"See? He knows how to be nice." You chuckled and found a (as much as it can be) cozy spot in the corner, about seven feet from the others while keeping your head down, to be fair, Trevor never claimed to be nice from the beginning. "Is it true, then? The castle can travel somehow?" Now whs when you tuned into the conversation, looking up, you changed your gaze from your lap to Alucard, awaiting the response. "We know the stories, but sometimes, it's hard to separate myth from truth."
"Tell them about Dracula's castle, Alucard. Sypha's day can't get any more ruined." Trevor rudely stated. You pursed your lips, but ignored him.
"Dracula's castle moves. How to describe it? It travels without moving. It appears at locations as if...." Alucard paused, as if to find the right words. "Well, as if by magic." You stared at him in awe, they may be trying to kill humans, but vampire technology was so fascinating to you.
"There has to be a way to trap it. How do we start?" Sypha wondered.
"I want to go home." Trevor said, while looking through an old box for alcohol, as he has since he got here.
"It's not like you're the only one. Grow up." You growled irritatedly at him.
"Have you been drinking again?" Sypha half yelled.
Trevor seemed disappointed, "Some chance. But no. I want to go home. The old Belmont estate." Oh, well that clears it up, you would feel bad for snapping at him earlier, but it's not like he's not done the same to everyone else here.
"I was under the impression it was destroyed. Villagers, pitchforks, and torches, that sort of thing." Alucard boredly rested his head in his hand.
"It was. But the value of the old house wasn't the house itself. It was what was underneath it. The Belmont Hold. Our family library and trove."
"The knowledge and material of generations of Belmonts who fought the creatures of the night. That sounds interesting. If it survives."
"If there are solutions to finding and killing Dracula, they are in the Hold."
"You're guessing, though."
"I am guessing. I can't read or understand magic. But my family stored everything they found, including books of magic and whatever other weird stuff they came across. I just can't do anything with it. But you and Sypha can, and (F/n) can read and help search through books."
"Fortunate, then, that I chose not to kill and eat you, Belmont."
"And that I decided against gutting, flaying, and turning you into shoes Alucard." Shoes? You raised and eyebrow. Well, okay.
"Such a merry band we are." Sypha looked as if we were a disappointment of a group destined to kill Dracula, to which she would be right.
"Hey!" You pouted, realizing you weren't exactly excluded from her intended meaning.
"I will find us a covered wagon and horses. If you two manage not to kill each other while I'm gone. And (F/n) doesn't manage to just watch and laugh while it happens. So, please (F/n) don't."
"Oh please. We're not children." Alucard defends.
Sypha pursed her lips and walked off leaving you with Trevor and Alucard, you really hoped they didn't kill each other. You don't have any idea how you'd explain that to Sypha.
"Eat shit and die."
"Yes, fuck you."
Your mouth gaped as they just started laughing after, w-what? After the initial shock (which you weren't really that shocked), you joined into the laughter.
"Do you really believe we could find the tools to kill my father at your old home?"
"I'll be honest with you, I don't have a better idea. I just know that right here, right now, we are under equipped for the job." Trevor admitted.
"I guess it's better than nothing." You shrugged.
"I'm trusting you, Belmont. Don't make me regret it." Alucard warned.
"Everybody regrets it in the end." You really wished he hadn't said that, as they say, ignorance is bliss.
