You let out a heavy sigh and opened your eyes. Fortunately you didn't feel nearly as sore as you did before, you tended to your wounds a bit ago. In all honestly, you were almost sad. When you had to go and find a way to destroy Dracula you had a purpose, which you hadn't had in a very long time.
Now, what was there? Other than Alucard and the others you didn't have much meaning in your life anymore, and now that the battle was over it was time to part ways from your friends. They would be much safer without you. You guessed that there could be worse than a nomadic life, but you wanted more. A solid, consistent life. Maybe one with a family, or at least a friend.
You shook your head. You had to stop thinking like that. That was not a possible outcome.
You lifted your head up to see Trevor and Sypha stroll towards you. They had not noticed your presence considering you were below eye level sitting on the grand staircase in the opening hallway. They were also too absorbed with each other to see you. "What do you think he's going to do now?" Sypha quietly asked Trevor.
"I had a plan, you know." You snapped you head back at Alucards voice, he was making his way down the stairs, eventually locking his eyes with yours. You carefully stood up, this made Trevor and Sypha notice your presence. "I was going back to Gresit...return to my vault...go back to sleep." You pursed your lips.
"But?" Trevor urged him to continue.
"If I leave this castle here...all his work is inside it." Once Alucard arrived beside you he held out his arm for you to take. You did so gracefully, continuing down the stairs with him, only letting go once you reached in front of the others. "His libraries, his materials, his knowledge. What happens to all that if the structure is abandoned?"
"Susceptible to damage and thieves." He nodded at your statement.
"I can't just leave it here. It'd be nothing but a grave to be robbed." He narrows his eyes. "So...let it be my grave."
You frowned, not even wanting to think of that.
"No." Trevor grunted.
"No?" Now Alucard smiled slightly.
"No. We can't move this thing." Trevor pointed at Sypha. "Sypha broke it."
"I did not." She defended.
"You kind of did." Alucard raised an eyebrow at her.
"I do not break things." She crosses he arms over he chest.
"Tell that to the castle." You giggled.
"So, we agreed she broke it." Trevor asked.
"Oh, yes." Alucard nodded.
"So it's staying right here, forever." Trevor looked back, gesturing to the outside. "Right on top of the Belmont Hold, which is now also open to the world." Trevor started to pace, forward and back. "Up here, your father's collected knowledge. Down there, the collected knowledge of your mother's people." He paused for a moment. "As above, so below. Both halves of you, Alucard."
"I'm listening." Alucard uttered.
Trevor walks over to him, putting his hand on his shoulder. "Behold, you sulky half-vampire bastard." He pulls away, bowing in front of him. "I bequeath you the Belmont Hold. Make that and the castle your home, not your grave." Trevor grinned. "Be it's last defender." You put on a smile.
"You're giving me your home?" Alucard hesitatingly asks.
"It's yours. My childhood home and your childhood home. Protect it. Make something out of it. Something better than a pile of ruins and a symbol of terror." Alucard only smiled and nodded at Trevor's request.
