You felt pretty anxious, although you four were finally leaving the city, it was a full moon that night. Luckily you had some hours before sundown. Trevor and Sypha were at the front of the wagon guiding the horses, while you and Alucard sat at the end. There was an awkward silence between you two, only hearing the mumbles of (you couldn't hear what they were saying) slight chatter from up front. It was some time, long enough so Gresit wasn't visible anymore, before you finally decided to start up a conversation. It was mostly to calm yourself. Changing under stress can make The Beast more violent than usual and harder to control (you even changing under immense stress a few times before, it didn't need to be a full moon). "Sooooo what is your favorite blood type?" You winced at your question, how could you ask something so dumb to a vampire.
You looked up at Alucard, his eyes were widened with surprise, but much to your bewilderment, his face changed to an almost amused expression. "What?" He chuckled while asking, and gave a genuine smile at you.
"Oh, uh sorry that was dumb." You began to giggle too rubbing the back of your neck sheepishly, blushing in embarrassment.
"Do you want me to respond to that with a legitimate answer?" You paused before choosing your next words, not wanting a dumb blurt out like last time to happen again.
"Is there an answer?" You grinned, slightly curious now.
"AB negative." He answered seriously, with a slight trace of a smile still on him.
"I could tell. You seem like a AB negative type of person." You joked. "Well, what about color?" You were on a streak, why not keep the conversation going, no matter how light.
"Hmm, I suppose that would have to be yellow." You thought about his answer while looking him up and down, you were astonished. There was no hint that would have made you guess that before. "What about you, then?"
You gave it a quick thought before responding. "That's a hard one believe it or not, there's so many good ones. I guess it would have to be (F/c)." He only have a small nod and looked away at the scenery. You pondered for a little while, looking into the distance as well. It was beautiful day, which made you think of another question, a slightly more serious one. "So is it a myth then, that vampires can't be in the sun? I wouldn't know because I've never met one other than you, and you don't seem to burning up."
"No, it's definitely true." You raised an eyebrow, he realized your confusion and continued, "I'm only half vampire, you see, I can be in the sun due to the fact the other half is human." You accepted the answer with small smile and looked into his honey yellow eyes, with him staring right back into your (E/c) orbs. Alucard's eyes were truly breathtaking, strong and kind, yet...sad, and so hard to look away. However, you were afraid to make it awkward again, therefore you quickly adverted your eyes.
"Tonight is a full moon." You sighed, not looking back at Alucard. "I was sure one of you would bring that up before I had to, but now it's hitting the point where I should say it. I believe you three know what happens on a full moon, yes?"
"Yes." It was only now you looked back it him, there were some tears starting to well in your eyes. You did not cry often, but this was the thing you hated most about yourself, and to bring it up in front of him was shameful in your mind. His eyes softened, taking in your expression. He had not known you long, but he already could tell this was not like you. "Don't worry. I will make it so we set up camp soon, and you can do whatever you need to prepare." You only nodded and shuffled closer to Alucard, but not too close, just so that your shoulders and knees were nearly touching, though not quite. You returned your gaze to the road and everything behind as it all got smaller as you went. Hopefully it would all turn to be an eventless night for you and your comrades.
