Jeon Min-Hee
“Psst. Hey. Min-Hee.” A voice from besides me whispered.
I ignored it as my pencil scratched notes into my notebook, taking down everything I was reading. In front of me sat a book on astronomy and the world beyond ours.
“Hey!” It whispered again.
The voice belonged to none other than the class clown and adoptive brother, Jeon Jungkook. He was now nudging my elbow with the eraser of his pencil, knowing at some point I'll get annoyed and give him the attention he's looking for. With a sigh, I set my pencil down and lifted my head from my books to look at him.
“Yes, Kookie?” I asked, propping my head up on my hand.
“I don't understand any of this.” He said flipping the pages in his book.
I took the book from him and sighed, seeing the english text. Really? You closed the book and set it in front of you before returning your gaze at him.
“Well for one, it's in English.” I said, holding back a teasing laugh.
I placed the book in front of me and gave him the one I was reading from. A bell sounded, signifying that the last class was over. He, somehow, managed to get a study hall for his last class which we, usually, spent in the library to study or catch up on work. I was in college and by this time, my classes were normally done with.
“I have to run. A few friends and I are meeting up for some food.” He said, as he packed his bag back up.
“Alright. Don't forget, though. Today is Wednesday. That means you have to be home by nine so we can start your English lesson.” I said.
“I won’t!” He said in an almost annoyed tone.
Standing to his feet, he moved to behind his chair and pushed it in. I followed in suit and flung my bag over my shoulder.
“I'll be home by 8:30. I promise.” He called before running into the hall.
Behind me I heard a familiar voice ring out followed by a deeper one. They were laughing and making jokes, bringing a smile to my face. Besides my brother, there were only a few others I actually tolerate being around. We grew up with them practically. They were a few years older than us but they were all like family to us.
“Are you ready to head back? Hoseok and I got out early. Professor approved since all our work was done.” Eun-Ji said as she walked in.
Behind her followed a happy and prancing boyfriend. He skipped his way to her side and stopped before reaching out to squish my cheeks.
“Small MinMin is the cutest little thing! Besides my girlfriend. But still.” He said, teasing me about my height.
I puffed up my cheeks and whined in response then swatted his hands away. Taking my place on the empty side of Eun-Ji, we began to head for the main entrance of Jungkook’s school.
“Leave my height alone.” I said, smiling.
“Can't help it. You're almost 21 and you're only five foot two.” He said, laughing.
I pouted as he laughed, Eun-Ji trying her hardest not to laugh with him. She nudged me and smiled before skipping.
“So. We have to go over our forensics and Hobi needs help with his math. That's all you. I'm so bad at math.” She said before laughing.
“Right. And then at 9, I have to tutor Jungkook in his English.” I said, pulling my phone out.
“Doesn't he have to go to come with us, today?” Hoseok asked.
I stopped walking and thought for a minute before screaming for my brother and launching into a sprint.
“I completely forgot we have that concert!” I shouted. “Head to the venue! I'll grab him and be there as soon as possible! Tell Joon and the other two I’ll be there soon! Start getting set up!”
