You had fallen asleep in a somewhat peaceful trance. There were many other instances where the process of sleeping went by smoother, but this recent experience was okay. As you enter the world of dreams, something about it felt off.
You seemed to be walking down a typical hallway of your school, which naturally triggered a sense of fear, knowing "you'd be late" to class. You begin to run, but only for the hallways to become longer. You stop running, making the hallway retract to where you had once started off at. This all seemed normal to you, but you were cut off by the sound of a scream. An instinct kicks in you, as you chase after the source of the sound so you could defend the person.
The only thought in your mind is Monika. You want her to be safe at all costs, and you know that you wouldn't be able to handle her death, let alone a small injury. The scream became louder, as you charge at a door of a class.
You burst into the room to see Monika on the floor, lifeless. You roll her over, shake her, and ask if she's okay, but her eyes were a grayish green, lacking any features of emotion.
You could no longer feel your legs, forcing you to be trapped on the floor. Your body naturally curls up in a fetal position, as you slowly begin to cry. The rain from the outdoor becomes more audible and visible to your eyes, as everything slowly fades away.
Immediately after the scare, you lunge forwards, gasping for air as tears pour out from your eyes. You look at your phone's screen to see Monika peacefully resting, as you silently cry. You were very thankful that it was only a nightmare. You hug your phone, as you could practically hear Monika's soothing voice at this point.
You grab a glass of water, take a few sips, and go back to bed.
