"I think it's time I showed you something," I said leaning my head on Mingyu's shoulder.
"What will that be?" he teased, facing the mass of black hair on his shoulder.
I smiled and let out a sigh, as the memories played in my mind. I could almost smell the carnations and lilacs as I closed my eyes trying to feel the soft grass instead of the gravel on the sidewalk. I took in a deep breath as I released my grip on the wooden plank on launched myself up. I stood in front of Mingyu stretching out my hand in front of me. He looked at me puzzled and shifted his eyes to my outstretched palm.
"Kaja," I said grabbing his hand after a few seconds. I pulled him out of the bench and dragged him along with me towards the bus stop. My eyes searched for the neon orange 17 in every bus on the road. A few minutes later I pushed a puzzled Mingyu on board the bus. Taking the window seat at the back of the bus, I looked out as skyscrapers were replaced by the lush greenery dotted with every colour in the rainbow. The still air turned to a cool breeze as Mingyu leaned in nearer to the window.
"Where are we going y/n?" he questioned again.
"You'll see," I replied as he slumped back on the chair.
"You know without the amount of trust I have in you, I'll never have stepped on to this bus..." he sighed as my laugh filled the empty bus. The bus passed a wooden road sign and I got up standing near the exit. The bus came to a stop in the middle of a forest. I got down has a hesitant Mingyu followed. I set foot of the main road onto a beaten path and that was enough for Mingyu to stop. I turned around raising an eyebrow at him.
He stood there folding his arms, staring at me.
"I am not going anywhere Ms.-" I pulled him into the forest which cleared into a flower field. I let go of Mingyu's arm and took in a deep breath. Mingyu abruptly stopped talking and shut his mouth. He looked around like a kid in a toy store for the first time.
A grassy meadow dotted by petite, fragrant carnations and lilacs basked in the light afternoon sun, in front of our eyes. Little white butterflies were lazily flitting around the lush grass and dipping their tiny feet into a clear, bubbling brook. The sky was a deep blue and an occasional cloud would bounce across the heavens like a dancing sheep. A tall fig tree stood in the field, accompanied by a little tent underneath it. It was dull shade of white, a few spots of grey blending in and out of it.
I turned to see Mingyu still starstruck and giggled at him. He turned to me, smiling with a spark of excitement in his eyes. He took off, running around the field causing the butterflies to rise higher up in the dewy air. I plopped onto the ground watching him having the time of his life, prancing around among the grass that reached his shins. I smiled at him before he came running towards me with a something cupped in his hands. Reaching me, I could hear him panting but he was smiling like a maniac.
"What?" I asked with a little laugh in between. He grinned at me before pouring whatever was in his hands, over my head. I closed my eyes and hugged my knees, anticipating the worse. Soon, I felt the soft and gentle brushing of flower petals. I peeked to see a blur of yellow and pink fluttering down in front of me. I reached out and caught some in my hands and threw them at an innocent Mingyu. I flashed a cheeky grin before taking off trying to escape. After a few minutes of running and chasing i gave up as Mingyu caught up to me. Wrapping me in his arms, I felt like a teddy bear against his tall figure. I could feel his heart beating as I tried to catch my breath. We both sat down, still in our tight embrace as I leaned back on him, looking up to the sky. I closed my eyes and smiled, happy to be with him, among the flower field where I spent most of my child hood in.
