Chapter Three . . . Questions

Karen's POV

Derek continued to drag me out of the restaurant, that was filled with people in fear, even though I continued to protest, scream, and hit Derek,  the bastard only ignored me.

"Derek if you don't stop I'm going to-" He turned and faced me with that stupid smirk on his face.

"You're going to what, Karen?" I don't know what made me chose such a rash decision, it could of been the anger of the date or the anger from that stupid smirk, but I kicked him in the family jewels.

With a 'umph' he fell to his knees and held his now sore spot.

"You see what you do Derek?" I said angrily but with a sort of smile.

"That was my future children Karen." He hissed out and I laughed.

"Maybe I took that too far, but you have to admit that you pushed me."

"I saved you from sweaty Gus, you ass!" At this point Derek was just trying to catch his breath.

"You're an idiot. I went on a date with him, he didn't kidnap me." I said and rolled my eyes.

"Trust me Karen nobody wants to go on a date with a guy who sweats the amount that guy does." He groaned.
After a moment of silence, Derek was finally able to fully stand up.

"You okay?" I asked starting to feel semi-guilty.

"Well, you kicked me in the balls Karen, how do you think I feel?" He started to march off and I followed behind him.

"Derek Barkley, you came into a restuarant, told everyone that there was a gas leak, pulled me out of my date, and now your mad at me because I kicked you in the balls?" He turned around and stared at me tiredly.

"Gus Ramsey is a dickhead Karen, he thought he became something better after highschool, he didn't. So I thought I would do something nice for you and save you."

"You're mad because I went out on a date with Gus Ramsey? It's been ten years since I've been out Derek, I just wanted to do something fun."

He walked up to me and put his hands on my shoulders. "You want fun? You call me, not some loser from highschool." I smiled before pulling him into a hug.

"Yeah, but your kind of fun would end up with me in a jail cell." I felt the vibration of his laugh.

"No baby, Dylan would let you out. Me on the other hand would end up as prisoner's bitch." I giggled and Derek pulled away having a pretend look of shock on his face.

"What you don't think I'm pretty enough?" He spun in a little circle showing off his perfect body which only made me laugh harder.

After I calmed down he grabbed my hand and rubbed circles in my palm with his thumb which made my heart beat rise faster.

"Are we okay?" He asked making me roll my eyes. The man taught me how to defend myself, made me feel pretty, and was my first crush. Could I forgive him so easily for causing that big of a scene infront of everyone I knew in town?

"Yeah, we're okay." I answered with a smile. What can I say, I'm a sucker for Derek Barkley.

"Okay, now can I take you home?" He asked and began raising his eyebrows in a perverted way. I smacked him in the back of the head.

"Hey!" He hissed causing me to laugh and head for his car.

I stopped dead in my tracks as I realized that Gus Ramsey was still in the restuarant. He wanted me for God only knows what, and was using my son as a threat.
