Chapter Seven . . .Losing Her
Karen's POV
"What are you doing here?" I asked, confused and slightly scared as I stared up at Gus.
"Can I come in?" He asked and I quickly shook my head.
"I don't think that would be a good idea." He took a step into the door and pushed me out of the way before entering my house. "Gus, you have to leave. I don't want you here."
"Karen, you got me fired from my job, I think I deserve some time alone with you." He told me and that's when I saw it. The glassy look in his eyes mixed with fear. He was not only drunk but angry.
"You threatened me." He laughed.
"I did not fucking threaten you. You want to see threaten?" He walked up close to me and put his mouth near my ear. "I'm going to fucking kill you bitch." He spat in my ear and grabbed me by my throat.
I gasped for air and grabbed his wrist.
"You think you can get away with this you stupid bitch? Huh? Nobody messes with me!" He yelled and threw me on the hard ground." I took a deep breath of the air and groaned at the pain in my back.
"Gus stop, you don't have to do this." I almost begged. Almost.
If there was something I would take from Derek it would be never beg, even if it meant your death. Don't give them that satisifaction.
"I don't have to do this? You've ruined me! I won't ever have a teaching job again because of you!" He kicked me in the ribs and I let out a grunt. That was definately going to leave a bruise.
"Get away from me!" I yelled and crawled on the floor, but Gus didn't listen and instead kicked me again and this time I landed on my back. His hand wrapped around my throat tightly.
"So here's the deal, I'm going to make you pay like you made me, but first I have to have a little fun with you, right?" I tried to get words out, but it was no use. "I'll take that as an agreement groan, so let's get started shall we." He let go of my throat and I gasped in my breath.
"Gus-" I was cut short when he punched me in the face. I began seeing different colors and the room began to spin. I heard the zipper of my pants unzip and they were ripped from my body. "So, sweet." He whispered and kissed the skin on my thighs. I tried to kick him off, but that only earned me another punch in the ribs.
"Sit still and it won't hurt as bad." He growled as he stood up and began to undo his own pants. "This is going to be so good." He moaned just as there was a knock on my door.
"Karen, I know your in there, can you open the door?" Derek's sweet voice called through the door.
"D-" My words were cut off short when Gus picked me up by the throat.
"Shut up, you hear me!" He whispered/yelled.
"Come on Kare, we need to talk and if we don't then we're going to have to hate each other for the rest of our sorry lives, and I can't have that on my chest." He yelled through the door and Gus's hand tightened. "Fine Karen! I'll leave but we aren't done, baby." I heard the footsteps start to leave and I felt myself panic. I needed Derek. I quickly threw my hand on Gus's face and began clawing at everything including his eyes.
"Ah!" He yelled and dropped me to the floor harshly.
I was too weak to stand up so I did what I knew what to do and that was scream. I didn't even have to scream his name and Derek broke down the door and was inside within minutes. I watched as he took in the scene. Me, with no pants on, and Gus with his pants undone.
"Derek." I squeaked out before I laid my whole body on the floor.
You know how in movies when a person was starting to slip into unconsciousness and they get clips of darkness and clips of the real world, well that's what was happening to me. I watched as Derek pounced on Gus, and then darkness. Then I saw Gus on the ground bloody, and then darkness. Then finally I saw Derek's beautiful face.
"Karen, can you hear me?" He asked and I smiled.
"Yeah, I can hear you." I felt as he touched my hair. "You didn't kill him, did you?" I whispered and I watched his face pale.
"No, absolutley not. I want his ass to rot in prison." I relaxed as he put my head in his lap. "You have to stay awake Karen. I have help coming."
"I'm trying." I whispered as I felt myself go deeper into the darkness.
"Karen did he . . . did he . . ." That was the last thing I heard before I let the darkness take over.

Derek's POV
"Karen did he . . . did he . . ." I trailed off as I watched her fall to unconsciossness. "Karen? KAREN!" I shook her a little but it was clear that she was out.
I felt myself panic as I heard the sound of the ambulance and police sirens come to my rescue. Before I could even blink, the paramedics were shooing me away from Karen's body.
"Agh!" I heard someone moan and saw that it was Gus, and I quickly realized that I should of killed him.
I started to approach him, but was quickly pulled out of the house by Dylan."What are you doing?" I yelled at him, totally distraught.
"You can't do this Derek. You have to get to the hospital for Karen. She's pretty banged up and she's going to need you." I felt my anger subside and my need for protection take over.
"Where's Garrett?"
"He's staying the night with mom and Dean, we got him covered. You need to go with Karen." I nodded quickly agreeing with him before running to the ambulance and hopping in next to a cold Karen.
"Karen hang on for me because we're not done. I have a lot I need to say, and I need you here with me baby."I felt myself become weak from the thought of losing her, and a thought popped in my mind.
I might lose her before I got her.
