Chapter Thirteen . . . We Are Family
Karen's POV
"MOM! Check this out!" Garret yelled as he ran through the door and to the kitchen where I was making dinner.
"Okay, what am I checking out?" I asked with a laughed as he handed me the flyer.
"It's baseball try outs." He informed me.
I read over the paper, and Garrett did reach all of the requirements for the baseball team.
"Wow! This looks awesome." I said just as Derek made his way into the kitchen. He sat down at the table with a charming smile on his face.
"Did he show you the paper yet?" Derek asked me.
I held up the paper and nodded.
"Do you want to try out?" I asked my son, who was bouncing up and down with excitement.
"Yeah mom. Please." He begged and I chuckled.
"Of course Garrett. I wouldn't hold you back from something like this." I told him honestly. "You know, you are going to have to work really hard, right?"
He rolled his eyes playfully at me.
"Yes, I know, and I'm always practicing with Derek." I nodded in agreement.
"Well, when are try outs?" I asked trying to find it on the paper when Garrett pointed it out. "Two weeks." I said to myself and then looked at Garrett. "You going to be ready by then?" I teased.
"Mom!" He groaned making both Derek and I chuckle.
"Okay, okay!" I joked and then knelt down to Garrett's eye level. "I'm very proud of you." I told him.
If you've never seen a child's eyes sparkle like a Christmas tree, then you're missing out because when Garrett's did. My heart melted.
"Mom, can I get a new glove?" He asked after he calmed down. I sighed and stood up straight.
"Isn't your birthday coming up?" I asked like I didn't know, but I did. I mean how could I forget my son's birthday?
"Yep." He popped the 'p' making me laugh.
"Well maybe you'll get one for your birthday."
"Really?" He asked.
"Maybe." I said with a smirk. "Now, go get washed up for dinner."
"Okay!" He cheered before running up the steps.
I turned to the sink and began to clean up some of the dishes that were in there from when I was making dinner. A pair of arms snuck there way around my waist and a soft kiss was planted on my cheek.
"You already got him the glove didn't you?" Derek whispered in my ear.
"Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't." I said with a smirk.
Derek trailed his lips from my cheek down to my neck.
"Derek." I warned, but once he started kissing my sweet spot I began to moan. His fingers walked there way up my sides and all the way up to the very top of my breasts.
"Derek, Garrett is going to be back down here soon." I said in pants.
"Then I guess we're going to have to make this quick." He said, smirking into the crook of my neck.
His hands criss-crossed and made there way into my shirt. His hands rubbed the covered material of my breast. His lips traveled from my neck up to my ear where he gently nipped it as his fingers on his left hand dipped into the bra and touched my right breast.
