Katie Holt was a regular girl except for the fact that she was a vampire. lance was a normal human boy.
pidge
yeah yeah I've heard all the human legends and... i know what you're probably thinking. "but how does she go to day school? well, let me start by saying that the whole, turning to dust in the sunlight... bullshit. I live in a village protected by a strong spell, with my family.
normal pov.
pidge walked through the forest on her way home. she was getting closer when she heard the guards at the front coming her way. before she knew it. she was standing in a courtroom bring framed for murder. there was no evidence but she knew who was framing her. the high councilman's daughter.
she was kicked out and banned from the village very quickly. but what truly broke her was the fact that her family didn't help her case. they didn't even show up. so pidge, now sat at the edge of the forest crying on the ground. she had just lost everything. she sat sobbing and crying without noticing that Lance, a boy from school had come walking down the path.
"Ma'am?" he asked.
pidge snapped out of her thoughts.
"Oh god not him not now... please no." she thought to herself.
she looked up already knowing who she would see. lance McLain. the problem with seeing him there was the fact that just the week before. he had learned her secret by accidentally seeing her turn from a bat into a human when she flew to school while running late one day. he froze for a second but slowly came closer. he stopped about 2 feet from her. of course... he was scared of her. pidge said nothing. she simply stood up and looked him in the eye. she turned into a bat and few up the closest pine behind her. she sat on the bench and sobbed.
"wait, Katie!" lance yelled from bellow, "I know you can hear me up there. come done, what's wrong?"
"why do you care?" she called back down. "it's vampire business."
"well, I don't care. I wanna know what's wrong. we're still friends whether your a vampire or not."
pidge looked at him and jumped off the tree. she stopped several feet away from him.
"I got banished from my home..." she said. "happy?"
lance started to close the gap between them. she looks at him with a confused stare.
"why aren't you scared of me? I'm a monster to humans."
lance put his hands on her shoulders, "you're still my friend. you not a monster to me..." lace picked up pidge's backpack which was still laying on the ground by the tree, "come on. it's getting late and it's dangerous out here."
lance grabbed her hand and led her away. she followed without a word. lance looked back at her and smiled slightly. they walked past several stores before lance stopped at one and walked into it. it was a Cuban restaurant. they walked upstairs until finally reaching another door. I was a beautiful townhouse.
lance set her backpack on the table and looked back at her. he walked to a closet and grabbed a t-shirt from it. then he grabbed some sweatpants.
"here, you'll get sick if you stay in those wet clothes."
pidge hadn't realized it but it was raining and she was soaked. she nodded and took the clothes. she looked at him and smiled.
"why are you doing this? you're a human you should be stabbing me with a wooden stake right now, or through a cross at me," she said.
lance smiled and walked to pidge. he pulled her into a hug and ket his chin rest on her head.
"because you deserve more than that. you deserve a life."
pidge hugged back and smiled into his chest.
"now go get changed. the bathroom's right over there."
pidge nodded and walked towards the bathroom. she undressed and put on the t-shirt which draped to her knees. there was no way the pants would fit. she left the pants alone and just wore the shirt. she smiled looking in the mirror. yes, vampires can be seen in the mirror. pidge looked at herself but stopped at the blood stain on the sleeve. she was suspicious of the placement of the blood only because she recognized the small stained lined the be right where his wrist would be.
"lance?" she walked up behind him. he was sitting on at the counter while playing with his wrist. she knew it. lance turned around while pulling down his sleeve. "lance." she said again.
"y-yeah? what do you need?"
pidge touched lance's wrist. he flinched and she stopped.
"I knew it."
lance met eyes with her, "how?"
"first of all, you smell like blood and second... I know what a cut stain looks like," she said holding up the sleeve on the shirt. his
"how?"
pidge sighed and held lance's hand. she placed his hand on her sleeve and let her hand rest on hers.
"I'll show you mine if I can see yours," she said.
"okay." he agreed.
pidge pulled up his sleeve and gasped. she never cut this bad. he was bruised and burned, not just cut. lance looked at hers. they still looked fresh. he let a tear plop onto her wrist without realizing. pidge looked up at him.
"hey hey, it's okay... it's oka know," she said. she pulled lance into a hug.
"I'm sorry... I just didn't want to feel the..."
"emotional pain... I get it. I'm here now."
lance looked at pidge. she lifted his wrist to her face. she quietly pressed her lips to his wrist. he felt a burn but when she pulled away... his arm was healed.
"Woah... how..."
"not a lot of vampires are born with a healing kiss. but I was lucky enough the receive it."
lance looked at pidge and smiled, "but what about your's?"
"it doesn't work like that... see, all vampires are just like humans besides the fact that we drink blood the life. but each ability is special. I can turn into a bat, fly, shapeshift, and the sun doesn't hurt me. but other vampires may have completely different skills. which is why most vampires are nocturnal. I'm not because I don't have to be.
