"Please! Don't leave me!"
Renjun was close to screaming when his half brother literally gave him a bored look. "It's just a discussion, you won't die." Yangyang pried the fingers off his clothes.
The younger one smiled cynically as the two could clearly hear Renjun's partner greeting them cheerfully. "Good afternoon, Lula." Yangyang smiled sweetly at her. "I'm sorry to keep you two waiting." The girl shyly apologised.
"Oh, not at all." Yangyang said, he seemed to be the one doing the talking as Renjun was being rebellious for being partnered up with someone like her. "We just got here, but it looks like I have to leave. See you two soon." Yangyang said before winking to his brother and left the two.
Renjun shut his eyes, he tried his best to stay calm. Luckily enough, Lula decided to sit across him rather than next to him. He couldn't picture if he was harassed by her. He was overreacting, of course, he wasn't raised to handle admirers like Lula anyway.
The two sat in silence for the longest time until Renjun decided to start a conversation, by clearing his throat first. "H-How's your part g-going?" He asked and mentally cursed himself for stuttering.
"Um, I'm almost done I guess?" Lula responded a little too soft. She cleared her throat, "Afterwards, we can move to the next section." She said. The weird thing about Lula is that, she was the crazy type whenever she was around Haneul.
However now, she was really quiet and awkward. Though Renjun knew he was supposed to be happy about this but he somehow felt uncomfortable. Was he being an ass? Did he cause this? He often thought.
The two only held meet ups once a week, this was mainly because Renjun would find any excuse he could to not show up. However, they already had three meetings in the first week, it made this one the fourth and somehow, he noticed a difference in his partner.
According to Donghyuck, she wasn't excellent with History but Renjun realised that she was serious with doing her part of the project. Though he wasn't sure if she was doing so to impress her but it was beneficial for both of them.
Then again, Renjun liked how she was trying her best to not annoy him, mainly because she had a crush on him but then again it was kinda cute. No, no Renjun! Don't even think that.
"How's summer going?" He asked out of the blue and the small gesture almost made the girl's heart burst. It was pounding so hard to the point she forgot he even asked her one.
"H-Huh?" Her eyes rounded as she looked at him and quickly looked away to hide her pink cheeks. "Uh, n-not much I guess?" She was stammering, Lula wanted to scream and tell Haneul immediately but she knew she had to remain calm in front of him.
"W-What about y-yours?" She braved herself to ask him. Renjun raised an eyebrow and looked in her direction. "Not much too, everyone's stuck with this project." He smiled slightly.
A smile that was enough for her to melt. He was the cutest boy she had ever landed her eyes on. It was a pathetic crush but Lula couldn't help herself. Lula nodded in agreement with what Renjun said previously. She couldn't hang out with Haneul much as she was getting too serious with her project.
The school sure knew how to mess up with their summer break.
"Haneul—"
"Jeno—"The two mentioned their friends name simultaneously as both wanted to say that the two were being too serious with their research. They were surely going to ace the project anyway.
Renjun had his eyebrows furrowed somehow as he said the name, "Haneul." Lula was confused at first but she turned around to follow where the male had his finger pointed to.
