"OH MY GOD!!!"

Lula was shrieking over the end of the line, Haneul had to take the phone away from her ears. So far, she only told Lula about what happened with Jeno last night. She wasn't ready to tell her cousin just yet, she had a hard time predicting his reaction as she likes his own bestfriend.

"And then? Then what happened?! Tell me!" She screamed, Haneul was laughing as she expected such reaction from her. "That's all, he walked me back home and yeah." She said.

Lula was squealing and the girl could only imagine her doing so on her bed. "That's all? He didn't send a good morning text to you or anything?" She asked excitedly.

"Lula... we're not dating—"

"Yet." She stopped Haneul. "You will, I'll make sure my ship will sail!" She screamed. "Does Hyuck know?" Lula asked, Haneul shook her head although her friend couldn't see. "I haven't told him yet." She said.

"Do you think he'll be okay with it?" Haneul asked, clearly Lula didn't know Donghyuck to that extend. The boy was rather unpredictable at times. "I'm sure he'll be fine, if he's not I'll get rid of him." Lula said and made sword slashing noises.

"Oh, I gotta go. Talk to you later." Haneul suddenly said as her maid walked into her room, giving notice that someone was here for her. "Ooh, boyfriend calls!" Haneul rolled her eyes but she had a grin slightly. "Lula—" "Bye!" The call ended.

"Donghyuck's mother came by yesterday."

Haneul wasn't sure what she was supposed to do with such information, so she kept quiet and listened. "She told me you had a sleepover there." Her mother said, a notebook in her hand, she was reading her journal again to keep track with whatever she had to.

"Yeah, we do that every month. You know that." Haneul replied, her voice trailed off slightly as she knew her mother wouldn't be speaking with her if it wasn't something she considered important.

Her mother gave a small smile. "Of course I do." She replied. "But she told me you two invited friends as well, when you never ever." That was it, she knew. Haneul was certainly nervous this time. She wasn't stupid, her mother knew something and she was afraid it might be exactly what she wanted to hide.

"I— I thought it would be fun." She replied nonetheless. "Besides, Hyuck told me to make more friends anyway." She said, trying to convince the woman her best. If only her sister was here.

Her mother close her notebook shut, and looked at her directly. "So you've managed to do it?" She asked. "You became friends with his?" She added. Haneul nodded her head slowly, she wasn't sure what was wrong or right, she didn't want her mother to know.

She made a face, as if trying to agree with her daughter. "Do I assume that friends sneak into my daughter's bedroom at night and took her out?" She asked.

This time, she felt her heart drop. She knew, Haneul was horrified. The girl had her lips slightly parted, she was speechless. She couldn't lie to her mother, she knows everything. Lying would only inflict more trouble.

Still, Haneul knew what was coming and she must stop it. Her mother cannot control her life, this is the one thing she cannot take away from her. She never had feelings for anyone and Jeno was the first boy ever, and she wanted to keep him.

"Oh, that! Stella was in my room." She tried to lie her way out, hoping that her mother would buy. Certainly, she failed as her mother's expression truly showed how she was unimpressed.

"I-It was my idea," she said softly. "He's innocent. I forced him to—"

"Nonsense!"

Her mother said, Haneul gulped. "I raised you, and I know very well that you had never sneak out of this house like a wild animal." She said. "That boy, is a bad influence—"

"No! I did it so many times before with Donghyuck and Lula. You can ask them yourself!" She said. "Jeno has nothing to do with this, just leave him alone." Haneul was pleading, her mother had a lot of power to do anything to his family and she was afraid of it.

"I was bored, I c-called him to come over and he thought it was a good idea to sneak out." She said, trying her best to defend the boy she liked so much. "You are disappointing me." Her mother said. "I thought having you out with that Jung boy would change your heart but clearly you have been blinded."

Haneul furrowed her eyebrows, she knew it. It was her mother's idea after all with Jaehyun. She must've convinced her father into this or better yet she did it herself. She was trying to set her up just like what she did with Haein. No, Haneul swore to herself she would never let this happen.

She looked at her mother. "I don't like him, I never will be attracted to him in such way." She said. "Please don't force me into this like what you did to Haein." She spoke in the most softest way of pleading.

Her mother had a dissatisfied face on. "Young lady!" She called. "I will not tolerate this immature behaviour of yours." She said. "From this day on, you are grounded and I want you to stay away from him or else."

That was the last straw, her heart truly break. She expected this, she knew it would be this way. Haneul had been so careful so many times, she hadn't foresee that she would be caught. She was careless and now she had to face the consequences.

Haneul swallowed the scream she had on her throat, she left the room and went straightly to hers. Only then did she scream into her pillows. The tears finally came and she became a child again. She was the type to have a control on her emotions but now she lost all of them.

She raised her head and the first thing she saw was the file, the file that so called contained their story, their promise. She had to let it go now, that wasn't going to happen and so she threw it across her room.

Bullshit, in the end it never worked. Just like the ending of that story, both Haneul had no happy ending anyway.
