Chapter 10

That day, Tobias kept his eye on me making sure that I was okay. I told him constantly that I was fine, but really, I truly wasn't. My stomach really hurts. My best bet is to just ignore it. He grabs the suitcase that was in the basement and hands it to me. The thing was full of dust and dirt and it made me sneeze.

"Got it?" Tobias says. "Yeah." I wipe the dirt off with a towel. We take it to his bedroom and start stuffing clothes into the small, red suitcase. He hands me clothes and I fold them and put them in the luggage.

We zip it up and Tobias brings the suitcase downstairs and places it by the front door.

"Ready to go?" He says. "Yep. We're ready to go." I say. Before we leave out the door, he hugs me and puts his hands around my stomach. It makes me feel better when his warm hands are on me. He kisses me and I kiss him back.

"Let's go." He says and smiles at me.

I smile back at him.

I enter the truck as he's putting the luggage in the backseat. He gets in and we drive out of the driveway.

"Where are we going now?" I ask. Keeping his eyes on the road he says that we are going to one hotel that sits in the middle of the city. He pulls something out from under his shirt and gives it to me.

"I want you to always have this gun on you at all times." He explains. "I don't want anything bad to happen to you or to me." I nod. He starts talking.

"Remember how Evelyn doens't like you and that I told her that we broke up."

"Yeah." I say. "Well I think that she knows that I was lying. Thats the only reason why I can figure out that she killed your brother. She never wanted for him to save you because she was afraid that we would get back together." I don't feel so good anymore. "She probably asked him in his office so she can question Caleb about the serum and then so that he wouldn't tell anyone what she was out to get, she placed bombs everywhere so that she could kill him." When I hear Calebs name, it makes me shiver. "There's no way she could have set up the bombs herself so she has to be working with someone. If she finds out that you're pregnant... I don't even know what she would do. It's likely that it isn't good."

I put my hands on my stomach keeping it safe. "What are we going to do then?" I ask.

"We'll stay here at the hotel for now and hope for the best." He seems hesitant about the idea. "I'll think of a plan but for now lets hope we're safe here."

"Tobias, I'm worried. I honestly don't feel safe and I think that people are watching us." Tobias parks the car in the hotel lot and then faces me. His voice gets serious.

"You think that I'm going to let them hurt you? Count your blessings on that because as long as I'm around... I promise that no one... will ever hurt you." The words are reassuring but I still have that sence that someone is watching us. He leans over and kisses me.

"Mind if you help me get the luggage out?" Tobias says.

"Not at all." I smile at him and he kisses me again. Maybe I do feel safe around him. Wait, scratch that, I do feel safe around him.
