Two days we've fled together
Seems an eternity.
Lost your hand I'd never
But now I should set you free.
Seemed, yeah, you seemed so good,
Felt I was the one big mess
Seemed, yeah, it seemed so good,
To you, I was a mistress.
Closed, so I closed my eyes,
Fade, I let you fade away.
I'll live it down,
And I'm going tomorrow.
Tomorrow never comes
Maybe cause I want it to.
I pack my dress and your ginghams,
Let me take just one or two.
Close, I close the door,
Turn the steering wheel.
I'll live it down,
So come what may today.
I knew I'd live it down
At least for this one day.
And, as you stand there, laughing
With that girl on your arms,
I see her eyes are shining
From tears, not from charm.
