I had a dream

I had a dream my dad was here.
He held me tight and kissed me goodnight.
He smiles so bright and turned off the lights.
And then I woke up and saw my life.
My dad never tucked me in and kissed me goodnight.
He never smiled and turned off my lights.
He never was here and never loved me.
Why did you leave me? Why did you leave me?
Do you even know that I'm alive?
Do you even hear my prayers at night?
I had a dream.
I had a dream about you.
Why can't you hold me tight?
Why can't you be here for me?
Why is the only question?
