So.. you're probably going to laugh..
Either you're going to laugh at me for making this an actual strategy.. or you're going to laugh at the other knights for not thinking about doing something so hilarious yet obvious at the same time..
I hid in a tree. Yep.. I hid in a tree.. as I set up bait at the base of said tree.
Okay, so hear me out.. I figured since this monster's got a weak point on it's back, and Melia said that there was no way we could reach something so high up.. well.. we make it easier to reach. Wait some place by for the big guy to pass by.. and then.. jump on the back.. bingo.. instant K.O.
Well considering there is an entire chapter devoted to fighting this guy, you all probably figured out already that it was NEVER going to be that simple. But don't worry, it wasn't that simple for the idiots who made fun of me either..
So there I was.. sitting on a tree branch watching my bait of jerky , which had been tied to a piece of thin string of which the other end I tied to a branch holding a set of bells. Clever right? That way when it starts jingling I'm not caught off guard.
Melia was of course, still on my back, using her chain as a sash.
"Hmmm.. sure it likes jerky at all?" asked Melia.
"It's a monster.. course it likes SOME form of meat!" I said.
"But what makes you think THAT form of meat is what it likes?" said Melia.
"Good point.. but.. the fact it's killing humans and eating them means it has a taste for humans right.. which by far should do nothing to fill it up since it's as big as a house.." I said. "Soooo.. probably eats everything and anything edible right? Like a Grizzly!"
"Hmmm.. they didn't say it ate humans.." said Melia.
"They implied, that's good enough. "I said.
"Well.. maybe there are other things that attract it.." said Melia. "You are a cute girl now.. so.. take off your clothes and do a sexy dance.."
"The fact you even suggested that, and you're a female weapon.. makes me feel very disconcerted Melia.." I grumbled.
I looked up at the moon.. it was night already, and I didn't know if it was midnight by now, we had been waiting quite a bit..
Melia made a yawning noise. "mmmm... Mira... can we just go back to the store.. ? Ask to make camp in their parking lot? It's pretty late.. and I wanna sleep."
I sighed. "We never know if it might be more active at night.. want some coffee? I still got a little left.."
"Master.. what makes you think I CAN drink coffee?"
"I.. I don't know.. like maybe I can pour it on top of you?" I said.
"That would make me feel warmer.. and wetter.." said Melia. "But not much else.."
"Jeez.. how do you enjoy life if all you're capable is talking, seeing and me swinging you around?" I asked.
"I can still move!" Melia said, whacking me over the head with one of her chains. "I just haven't found a hobby I enjoy quite yet!!"
"Wait.." I muttered.. I held up a hand. "Can you hear that..?"
"Hear what?" said Melia.
"Rustling.. growling.. fighting in the distance.." I muttered, looking around. "Can you see anything..?"
"Not really, moon's covered right now by clouds.. it's pitch black.. " said Melia.
"What? I can see perfectly.." I muttered
