Chapter 19: Death Season

*Ashley's POV*

"What test!?" Jenny shouted as black feathers surround the hand of the Harvester forming an axe, he spoke "the test of courage" he spawns an axe and slams it down to us as we all dodged. The Harvester continues with his speech "Ashley, I see you have friends to alongside you, but do they fight for what you fight for?"

Jade grabs a mini rocket launcher and shouts "WE FIGHT FOR EARTH! " the harvester answered "wrong answer" the Harvester teleport behind Jade and slams her to the wall, he spoke again "you're not looking in your hearts" Jenny and Baron attacks from above as Tommy casts thunder, but spells seemed to have no effect on him and he creates a radial blast sending Jenny and Baron flying off.

Lastly Keith rushed for his legs but the Harvester teleport above us and like a missile it slams us to the ground, Tommy as afraid as he is tries to give us protection and enhancements like boosts and healing but the Harvester casts anti magic on Tommy making his magic useless. The Harvester spoke "find the answer or stay here and wait as my master, Oblivion arrives and bring death to you all"

The Harvester was way too fast and powerful for any of us, but I knew he didn't come here to kill us, he came here to test us, to test what we fight for. I.... I don't understand his tests! .

I ran to Baron and told him to gather everyone in a group, Jade shouts "What the hell does he want from us! " Jenny tries her best to think "I... I think I got it" Jenny grabs out a gunblade and stares at the Harvester and explains "I... I think it wants us to fight for... What we want to fight, I'm sorry but it may seem like I'm fighting for earth as well but honestly that's not why I wanna be stronger"

Jenny puts her head down and takes a deep breath and answers the Harvester "I... I want to fight for Shelly! " the Harvester replies "that is... Correct, come and receive your price" Jenny charges with her gunblade and she was able to land a hit on him, the Harvester responds to this "she was correct for what she fights for, that is what she struggles to fight everyday, for Shelly and his store" he spawns a lance and points it towards us "what do you fight for! "

The Harvester charges towards us but we were able to dodge it once more and as everyone seem to understand what they truly fight for, but we all knew we had to take him down. I told everyone to push me higher and send me flying to get a upper advantage for a effective strike, I also told them to shout what they fight for and stole at his legs. Everyone agrees and finds their best spot to stun the Harvester, "here we go" I say to myself.

I run and jumps on Jade's hand as she boosts me high and Tommy creating a portal to go higher.

"I fight for my failures!" Jade shouts and fires a stun grenade.
"I fight for my Mom!" Tommy shouts and casts fireball
"I fight for the team! " Baron shouts and slashes making him fall
"I fight for Ashley! " Keith shouts as I slightly blush

I spawn a lance and ready strike his heart
"I... I fight for everyone! " the Harvester was stunned, trapped and my aim was clear. He was forced to let everyone land a hit on him and he knew he was gonna die.

Another radial blast went off around him and he summons a really long lance and strikes my heart in panic. I could still feel but very less. I could still see and hear but I couldn't move. Everyone was down and critically injured but I was dying. The Harvester spoke "Ashley it seems you do wanna stop Oblivion, it seems...I do too" he puts me down and surround black feathers around me to keep me from death "when you stunned me I knew I was going to die, at first I didn't fear death but people sure find something to live for"

the Harvester shrunk himself down to a human sized and walks to me "Oblivion told me to give you this once you pass the test" a blue glowing gemstone stone appears in my hand "it's a sapphire stone, someday you will find it handy. I'm sorry for the damage I've caused and in return I shall put you one day into the future and you shall awake remembering all this moment but all the damage I have cause shall be reversed and every citizen will forget about this day, like it was all just a nightmare"

I close my eyes in exhaustion and I fall asleep. I hear a beep and another beep and another continuous beep I say to myself "a... Am I in the hospital? " I wake up in my bed and next to me was an alarm. Fully rested and still remembering Death season happening but everything seemed back to normal, I snoozed the alarm and went over to the living room to ask Jenny about the Harvester

"morning Jenny umm... Do you know anything about the Death season? " Jenny shook her head "nope, what's that a new anime? " I replied "uh.. Nevermind" I asked the rest of the team the same question but nobody knew what it was. The days went on normal and Baron decided to give a speech "I'm sorry again about Nyx but it was either the crystals or us! I wanted to keep you guys safe, you guys are family and as a leader I would do anything to keep you guys safe" everyone accepted his apology and he spoke again proudly "Nyx with that much power he can destroy us all. But we don't need to kill him, he's not our top priority " Jenny agrees and finishes for him "he is right we just need to get Luna on our list" Jade responds "Luna? As in the space guardian? How are we supposed to find her?" Baron answers I'll work out some other details besides what's the rush we still got time so let's take a few breaks and get back on our mission"

Everyone seemed happy and deciding on group activities, but still I worry about the future, can we really stop Nyx?
