I awoke drenched in sweat. I squinted, I lay in a white bed, in a white room I didn't recognize. I searched for an aspect of the room which I could recognize, but I failed to succeed. All I could see where white walls, white lamps, and white furniture. White - symbolic of death. I remembered the day dad died, I sat in a white chair, in a white room, a nurse in a white uniform stopped beside me.

"I'm dead," I thought "I'm dead".

I felt an itch on my left wrist and went to scratch it.

"No!' I heard "No, Al, no"

I searched perplexed for where the familiar voice originated.

"Chris?" 'Chris" I sobbed as I saw a tall, black-haired, masculine figure rush in and lean beside me and grasp my left hand.

"Don't scratch it" "It's your IV tube" he explained in a gentle tone.

"IV tube?" I asked panicked

"Shh Shh" he consoled "You're in the hospital" "You were in a car accident"

I had no recollection of being in one.

"I can't remember, how come I can't remember?"

"Head trauma" he explained "You'll remember soon enough"

"Where are Andrea and Charlotte?"

"Andrea is here in the hospital. At the time of the accident, you were in the car together" "But she'll be fine" he assured me

"Charlotte?"

"She's gone" he sighed

"As in she's not here, right?" I breathed

"She's dead, Al" he murmured

"No, No, No," I said in denial "It's just a dream" "Just a dream". "I have to see Lab now" "I have to," I told Chris

"Al, not now"

I reached for the blue t-shirt and white skirt folded on the dresser.

"Al" "No" he opposed "Stay in bed"

"Please, Chris, Please" "I have to see Andera and Charlotte "I have-" I passed out as I clutched Chris's arm against me.

Once I awoke again, 12 hours had past and Lab now set next to me.

"Here" she smiled

"Andrea?, it's you," I said in a frail, weak whisper

"It's me" she nodded and grinned

I examined the innumerable gashes on Lab's forehead, left cheek and chin and the blue-green bruises on both shoulders and left arm. She wore a white clavicle brace.

"I crashed the car?" I whispered.

"You were drunk. We both were. It's not your fault"

"Oh God" I sobbed "your clavicle"

"It'll heal" she assured

I indicated the door "Where's Chris?"

"He left to buy us breakfast at the Pancake House, I snuck in here as soon as he left" she explained

"The Pancake House" I echoed. I and Ko had eaten there together.

"What is it Re?" Lab asked

"No, it just I dreamt that I and Ko were at the Pancake House and she collapsed near the cash register" "But it's just a dream I had" "It's not real because Ko didn't die" "She's fine, she's fine"

Andrea didn't respond.

"She's fine" I repeated "Isn't she"

"Re - she's not" she sighed

"No" I objected "Tell me she's fine"

"She's not fine" "She's...dead"Lab murmured

"No, the Ko I know, I saw 2 days ago, at the Pancake house"

"She died a day ago" "The Ko we know died a day ago" "murdered by Ray Walker"

"No, No, No" I sobbed "Please tell me it's not true" "Please" I bagged

"I can't" she whimpered

"No"

She nodded and embraced me. I clutched Lab's arm and leaned against it and sobbed.

"Ray murmured Ko" I whispered. I couldn't believe it. Accept it.

"I know" "It's surreal" she cried.

"I have to leave now" Lab whispered and kissed me on the head. "You'll be ok"

"Will we ever?" I sniffed

She hugged me again tight and left me. Left me alone and broken.

I feel asleep again.
