"You could have died" Andrea scolded
I gave a brief smile "But I didn't"
"It's a miracle you're alive"
"No. I knew the writer wouldn't let me die" I disputed
"Are you kidding me?!" she scorned "You still hell-bent on the idea that the writer is on your side?!"
"No, Not at all" I opposed. "All I know is that he won't dare jeopardize the book and All I did is take advantage of that".
"The writer brought me here - He saved me"
"You credit the writer now?!" "He's your hero now?!"
"No, Andrea stop it. You know I don't. "Stop it" I demanded.
"Fine, I'll lay off it" she surrendered. "But just keep in mind that the writer could have not saved you in time. He could have not known how to. And you would be dead now"
"I know" I nodded "But I had to take that chance".
"As much as I hate you right now for nearly dying on me. And do." I sighed. I admire your courage. I've always had. It's what I love about you" she murmured
"You love me?" I whispered
her eyes flickered and she smiled softly " I'm in love with you." concern then washed over her face "If that's okay" she added
I smiled "That's okay"'
"How long have I been out for?" I asked
"You've been in and out for 1 and half days," she said "You lost a lot of blood"
"How long have you been here for?"
"Same"
"Andrea, you shouldn't have" I sighed
"Don't be an idiot" she smiled "You'd have done the same".
I smiled. "Did you get any sleep?" I asked
"I couldn't" "I didn't know if you were going to be ok or not." she murmured
"Drea" I lamented
"You shouldn't have gone alone Alisa," she said "You should have told me"
"I knew you would say that that's why I didn't tell you. It would have just caused you more unnecessary pain, but knowing you, you would have gone anyway. You would have gone for me. And it would have been just selfish of me to let you come. It wouldn't have been right." I explained.
"You don't know then. I don't care. I don't care if you selfish, I care for you to be alive".
"Oh Lab, You're Earth's angel" I smiled and passed out.
I awoke sore and disoriented. I glimpsed at the time. An hour had passed.
"Ali? Ali?" Andrea whispered
"Yes, Drea?" I asked
"Oh Thank God, I thought you were asleep - I need to pee so badly," she said
I laughed. "You're adorable " I signaled to the bathroom across the hall "Pee"
She rushed out of the room and disappeared behind the corner and ran across the corridor to the public bathroom.
I lay in bed and gazed at the ceiling for a minute. It then dawned on me that I hadn't seen Chris yet. Where the hell was my big brother?. Then a phone rang. But Andrea didn't have a phone, it had been taken by the police to be examined, so what was that ringing I heard?
I followed the ringing of the phone, it got clearer and clearer as I approached the chest of drawers. I pulled open the top drawer and it revealed a white burner phone. How the hell had Lab snook in a burner phone?. I looked at the screen - It read No Caller ID. I answered it.
