I shut the door to my hospital room. I toppled on the stiff bed and reached for my iPod on the nightstand. I connected the iPod to my blue EarPods and played "Arms of the Ocean" and thought of Andrea, her beautiful smile, her luscious, golden blond hair, her smooth and delicate legs, and her elegant, angelic movements. I fell asleep free and serene, my last thought of the day being her.

The light spilled into the room as I awoke the next day. I inhaled a wisp of summer rain and stretched my arms out in front of me. How free I felt. For some reason, I felt freer. Maybe, because I appreciated it more? Since I would be soon imprisoned and that would be the end of my exquisite freedom.

I had forgotten to change last night and had slept in the blue cocktail dress I had worn on our date. I jumped out of bed and quickly changed into my camisole and pineapple shorts and slipped into bed again. I soon heard a knock on the door.

Come in!" I yelled

Chris entered the room bearing a  breakfast tray for me - it had 2 slices of bread, jam in a plastic container, a cup of juice (in my case pineapple juice) and a green apple.

He grinned and sat on the red plastic chair next to me.

"Hey Al," he said

"Hey big brother" I smiled

He handed me the breakfast tray and I opened the jam and began to spread the jam on a slice of toasted bread.

"Thanks" I chirped

"The doctor will be here in 5 minutes to check you out" he informed "Your being dismissed from the hospital today"

"I know" I sighed

"You ok?" he asked

"I'm okay" I nodded "I'll be ok"

"I'll be right by your side ok?" he asked

"Chris, really I'm ok" I continued "Actually, last night was the first time I felt happy in weeks" I blushed

He grinned "How'd last night go," my brother asked

"Great" I answered "Really great"

The doctor knocked on the door and Chris headed to the door and opened it.

"Good morning doctor," Chris said

"Good morning Christopher, Alisa" he replied

"Good morning" I smiled

"You seem cheerful today Alisa," he noticed

"Its because I am, doctor" I explained

"I like the sound of that" he beamed

"Your being released today," he said

"I know" I nodded

"Great news right?" he asked

"hmm" I nodded again

Great news? He knew that once I left this hospital I would be taken in for questioning and most likely be sent to jail.

"Ok, let's check your ribs shall we?" he asked

I nodded in agreement.

the doctor pressed on the rib I had fractured in the car crash. I felt no pain.

"How did that feel?" he asked

"Good" I smiled "No pain" I explained

"Excellent" he exclaimed

"Now your wrist" doctor Allen continued

"Wrist?" My brother asked puzzled and concerned

"You didn't know?" Allen asked
