"That's her."
I'm suddenly woken by a blinding light. My hand flies in front of my face to shield my eyes from whatever this horrible light source is.
I blink repeatedly and squint to try and see what's in front of me, sitting up on the bed. I can see outlines of people. Three men? And a shorter man...or a boy?
Suddenly the blinding light turns off, letting me see what exactly is in front of me. I was right: three men and a boy.
Three district guards. And Dylan Ocean.
"Dylan...?" I say, almost a whisper.
He smiles down at me. It's not even a cruel smile. It's just a happy Nacoma smile.
"We have Violet Thorburn," I hear one the guards say into a walkie talkie on his shoulder. "Inform President Curtis."
This doesn't feel real. This isn't actually happening, is it?
Dylan turned me in...
"Pacify her."
No, my head screams, but I can't bring myself to move.
I'm in shock.
I've been betrayed.
They've found me.
I'm fucked.
