My eyes are squeezed shut. All I can hear are my own screams. I can feel sweat dripping down my forehead, and binds against my wrists and ankles.
Everyone was right.
I should've died.
I shouldn't have been born.
All I do is hurt everyone I care about.
My screaming dies down, and now I can hear my thumping heartbeat and hyperventilating.
When my breathing has returned to normal, I slowly open my eyes. I'm back in the grey room with President Curtis. Now there are two guards standing beside her. They're all looking down at me.
"Still feeling determined, Miss Thorburn?" Curtis says.
I stare at the floor and shake my head.
"Good," she replies, turning to the guards. "Now take her away."
