Life in district 12 was tough. But being in an alliance with Josh Gillespie makes district 12 look like a field of daisies. I don't think he will survive this if he doesn't get it together and realize this isn't all about him and he can't do whatever he wants. Ugh, careers. They think they know everything. But they don't know the true meaning of survival. The Capital cares about them, so they have what they need. They don't know what the rest of the districts go through, and they sure don't know what it's like to lose people they care about because the Capital barely recognises you exist.
Once we are all finally together and Josh shuts up, we try to formulate a plan. We pool our supplies to figure out what we have. All together we have 7 backpacks with food and supplies, 2 swords, 3 packs of knives, a bow and 20 arrows, and a spear. It's not much, but we have enough. Taylor claims a pack of knives and both swords, Abby takes the bow, arrows, and the spear, each of us take a backpack, Austin and Alyson split a pack of knives, and Josh takes the final pack. I don't bother with weapons, my strength is in, well, my strength. I can fight with nothing but my own two fists. I'm not saying weapons aren't useful, but my mom says, "The people who fight the best are the ones who can do it themselves." And I trust her more than anything. She always told me I could do great things, and I might just prove her right. I'm going to survive. And when I do that, it'll be the greatest thing ever.
