We begin walk out of the silver door and cheering erupts the moment we leave the room. The sun blazes down on us all, the cheering continues accompanied by hooting and hollering. I manage to sneak a glimpse between one of the guards and to my surprise I saw people, with bright expressions on their faces clapping as we walked by. Even though I'm not exactly sure why their clapping, it sends a warm feeling throughout my body.
Their applause begins to fade as we walk further away from them. Looking down I saw that we were walking on grass and there is a large building ahead of us that we all walk in, however the armed men remain outside. The room we enter looks like it used to be an office, it smelt like really old books. There were ten chairs in which we all took seats, leaving two of the chairs unoccupied. One of them was supposed to be for Sammantha. My mind wandered a bit before I remembered that Vivian was not here, making me feel even lonelier than before.
Why did she run away like that?
Did she know that this was going to happen?
Still, how could she just abandon me?
Connor along with three other men walk inside and stand before us, they were all wearing camouflage but thankfully, they weren't armed this time. This makes almost no difference as I wouldn't be able to get out of here either way, they were no shorter than 6ft and looked like they were only made of muscle. I glance around the room at the seven teenagers who all look confused and shaken up, I couldn't begin to imagine what I must've looked like.
One of the men with dark hair speaks up "Welcome to Ironwright Fort, My name is Nathan Pierce and we are the leaders of this group. Im assuming you are all confused as to why you are here, well let me enlighten you." I took a good look at the middle aged man, his face seemed vaguely familiar to me but I couldn't for the life of me remember where I'd seen him before. "As you know, the zombie virus has began to spread throughout America. There isn't a place in the world that we know of that hasn't been affected somehow by it. All of your parents who were scientists prior to the outbreak had been working on the cure for the virus way before it was even tested on a plant."
—wait did he say zombie virus?
"Because of the nature of the virus they wanted to be extra careful and had already made vials of the cure months prior to the outbreak. They all agreed that if the virus was to somehow get out of hand, that their children would be the ones with the cure. They granted you all immunity to the airborne virus. However I am deeply saddened to inform you that the whereabouts of these scientists are currently unknown."
"How the fuck do you not know where our parents are?" A blond guy asked rudely, I jumped a bit at his words.
"They all seemed to vanish as the outbreak happened, we searched but couldn't locate any of them." Nathan said calmly.
My eyes wander down to my lap when another man began to speak. "We have made several attempts to get you all to come with us, however I realized now that if we would've explained the situation better there would've been less resistance on your part. Some of you put up a hell of a fight"
"Correct, if you would've just said why you wanted us to come with you, we would've come. No doubt about it. Instead though, you drugged us and tied us up like animals. Real classy." the girl—who was talking to me earlier in the cell—said to him.
He looked surprised at her words "Yes I am sorry about that and I will personally take the blame for any trouble our men have caused when trying to get you here." He apologized.
