MACK
If the zombie apocalypse was good for one thing, it would be the eradication of all idiots that overpopulate this planet. Firstly, it got rid of my ex Hayley. As much as I'd like to say that I felt sorry for her, I couldn't. It was more of a guilt thing. I didn't even want to think about her right now. I pushed all thoughts of my dreaded ex to the back of my mind.
I twirled a pen at a ridiculously high speed in my right hand, staring at a blank piece of paper that lied on my desk.
We were supposed to be coming up with a plan but I just couldn't focus.
Dahliah on the other hand paced around my room, not saying anything. She had that look in her eyes, every now and then that said plainly that she didn't want to be bothered.
She wanted to get out of here just as badly as I did. About a week had passed since the outbreak, a week since we'd seen our parents or ordinary normal zombies outside the Fort.
The scientists didn't exactly trust us around the Fort either, so we were told to stay in our rooms or to go to the gym finishing our training courses.
Dahliah seemed to be doing well with her own training, she never missed a day.
"Is this what you call coming up with a plan?" Alana asked, leaning casually against the wall.
How long had she been standing there. But more importantly how did she get into my room?
"My door was lo-"
"It was. And I unlocked it. What did you put in his coffee today? He's acting slower than usual" she said cutting me off.
Despite her insult, I noticed that she always found a way to sneak into my room unnoticed.
"I'll have you know that I don't drink coffee anymore. It's called healthy living, not that you'd know anything about that."
"Just because I have occasional sugar cravings, doesn't mean that I always give into them" she said crossing her arms.
"This is never going to work! Dave will spot us before we get over the wall." Dahliah said frustratedly throwing down the paper that had our first plan written on it. It soundlessly fluttered to the floor.
Samantha's room was the closest one to the large wall that surrounded this place. You could also see over the wall. It wasn't that far from her window, but there were guards patrolling that area almost every second of the day. Even at night. It was risky, and that was the beauty of it. However Dahliah seemed to distrust the plan.
"No offense Mack, but your plan sucks ass. We need more time to come up with a better route" Alana said.
"What better route is there? Like it or not Jumping over that wall is our only way out of here, it's not even that far of a jump" I state.
Dahliah groaned in annoyance, "So let's say theoretically that I do jump over the wall-no let's say theoretically that we all make the jump-what about the kid? We can't carry her on our back, neither can we toss her over the wall"
"Who says we can't launch her over the wall?" I suggest.
"Launch her over the wall and Alana will personally launch you over a cliff" she said seriously.
"Damn right I will." Alana said raising a brow "Have you guys considered going...below the wall?"
Below the wall?
"Wait wait what are you trying to say? Are there like, passages we don't know about yet?" Dahliah asked, I leaned forward intrigued by her suggestion.
