ALANA
The tour went as well as anyone could expect in a time like this. It was going to be night soon and I could barely wrap my head around the events of today.
There was a zombie outbreak.
I'd been kidnapped.
Thrown into a cell.
And taken to a facility where we were supposedly safe from all of the chaos happening in the outside world. Sammantha had been shot by someone here.
If it was one thing, this place was secure. Judging from the number of guards that I've already seen-given I'd only been here a couple hours-made me feel slightly safe from the zombies outside.
We were shown where the lab was and we even met the scientists who worked there. The lab was pretty high tech and smelled like disinfectant and mystery chemicals.
We were told that we had to visit there frequently.
There was a gym, completely separate from the main building and a track nearby on which we saw a few people jogging. Our rooms weren't too far from there either. I could almost imagine myself actually staying here for a while but the thought of my stay here being prolonged shot a pain through my chest.
Where is my sister is now?
Is she dead?
Was she somewhere with my mother?
She must've known about his place and wanted to remain with my mother. But why leave me? It didn't really add up in my mind. We'd never spent more than a few days separated from each other. I had to find her. She was my other half and all that other cheesy shït that twins say.
As lame as it sounds, I needed her.
I walked upstairs to my room, passing many others on the way. There was a dresser in the corner of the room filled with clothes that were either a size too big for me or could basically fit a small child.
As that thought of a small child went through my mind. I instantly thought-Phoebe.
She was there when we were taken by Connor. I hope they didn't hurt her.
Did they shoot her too? Anything could've happened to her.
They wouldn't shoot a child, would they?
I raced out of my room, closed the door a little too loudly in my hurry-and came face to face with a woman wearing a lab-coat.
"Slow down there sugar! You seem to be in quite the rush." she says taking a step back, holding a clipboard close to her chest.
"Um, yeah, sorry about that. I was just heading...Do you now where I can find Connor?" I asked, my thoughts confused.
"Sure, he's downstairs in his office. I can show you the way after your check-up"
Check up?
"I'm Fiona by the way" she said with a warm smile.
"Alana" I smile back at her, although I'm sure it doesn't reach my eyes.
"Alana, we can conduct it in your room, It's not gonna take long now, just you wait. " the blonde lady said ushering me back into my bedroom. She closed the door and then slid her clipboard on my dresser. After what seemed like half an hour, she finally got done explaining what exactly happened to us.
