I could tell Steve had high hopes. But I didn't want to talk to people; I didn't want to talk, I wanted to be alone, by myself, where I couldn't hurt anyone. I look to Bruce hoping he'd say no.

"No she wouldn't. I think she'd like her privacy while we ate," Bruce tells him with a smile. Steve sighs but nods.

"Ok then. We'll be eating now then," Steve says and walks towards the door. He stops by the door and looks back, directly at me.

"Oh and (y/n)....try getting your boyfriend to eat....he hasn't ate since the fight in Los Angeles," Steve says. I don't give any sign of reaction, pretending as if I never heard it. He wasn't my boyfriend and wasn't even a friend. Even with my jumbled memories he caused me a lot of pain. He was the type I had to obey but stay away from.

"Do you want to take a shower and then we can go eat?" Bruce asks, touching my knee slightly. I don't react to his touch. He was the only one that didn't have as much bad memories as the others. So I trusted him a tiny bit.

Nonetheless, I nod. I haven't taken a shower for a couple months now and needed one. I didn't want to take it but I had too.

"Ok I'll bring some clothes for you wait here," Bruce tells me and gets up. When he's standing the door opens quickly.

"I'VE GOT HER SOME!" Tony yells as he holds some clothes. His loud unexpected tone caused fear to surge through my body as I jumped back.

That resulted in me hitting my elbow on the edge of the small drawers. I whimper and grab my elbow as I bite away tears from the sharp pain.

"Fuck I didn't mean too," Tony whispers.

"Tony just get out. I know you're trying to get her back but you're just making her afraid of you," Bruce lectures him. Tony sighs and mumbles some rude words and walks out, slamming the clothes on the bed before he goes. I jump back a bit more from his hostility.

"Ok remember, breathe. Take your shower and then I'll empty out the lab so I can examine it," he says, lightly holding my elbow to examine it.

I could tell from his large frown he was either mad or annoyed. Most likely both. I'm just being a burden again. His friends are going to hate that I pick him over everyone else. Oh no then that'll tear them apart and the avengers will break up, and it'll be my fault, and Fury will punish me for it, oh no what have I done?!

"Deep breaths, you look so frantic," he tells me. I look down and try to steady my breathing.

"Now no more waiting. Go take that shower," he says and rests his hand on my cheek in a light, protective way. I nod and take the head to the bathroom. I stop at the doorway and look back to see him putting the clothes out on the bed.

"Thank you," I say quietly. I didn't know if he'd hear it. My voice had barely been a small whisper now. But he does hear it. He snaps his head up and looks at me with shock as if he didn't believe what he just heard. His shock quickly turns into a huge grin.

"No prob! Oh I mean no problem," he says a bit quieter. I nod and get in, closing the door behind me. I strip out of the clothes I was wearing in LA and take a look at myself in the mirror. I hated what I saw.

I was practically bones. My (s/c) skin all dirty, there was no meat on me, and my hair was a dread of knots. My skin also had light bruises on them. Along with that, scars from the torture I received at The Fridge were littered across my skin.

Looking at myself, I wanted to scream, cry, and break the mirror. But I couldn't....I'd ruin Shield property and then get punishment for it. I rip my eyes away and go to start the shower.
