Suddenly Became A Mate....?!

As the pack eats, Misty sees that I haven't eaten anything....and walks over to me with some of the meat in his mouth and sets it down in front of me. 

"You really should eat, it'll keep your strength up" he says. 

"I'm not that hungry...." I tell him. He raises an eyebrow, 

"I think you've got something else on your mind....?" he says. I turn away and blush. 

"So exhausted from before that you don't even have the strength to eat? Aw, should I chew it for you?" he smirks quietly, resting his head on top of my shoulder. I am silent, and lost for words, feeling my whole face getting hot with embarrassment. I stared at the ground, not having the strength to look him in the eye. 

I eyed the meat which lay there on the ground at my feet....he lowered his head pushing it closer to me. I wasn't hungry though, I looked around....there were many wolves around but, why was I the only fox? I wondered....

Misty was suddenly embracing me, he had put his paws around my body, I could start to hear my heart race madly in my chest and I found myself breathing heavily, but quietly all of a sudden. 

What the heck was he even doing?!....I thought to myself. He was breathing steadily and was sooo warm and soft...I felt myself trembling in his arms as I try to calm myself.

Try to stay calm, try to stay calm, try to stay calm, don't freak out, don't freak out.... AH! Shadow your better than this!!!! I thought to myself. 

I sighed and turned my head and glanced at Misty, "What do you think your doing?" I asked him with I cold stare on my face. Misty seemed unaffected but this, or was really good at hiding his reactions...either way I couldn't tell. 

"I just wanna know your doing OK, I don't know why but...I wanna be with you, protect you---" he said looking away from my eyes...he held me tighter. I could feel his heart also racing......

"HEY MISTY!!!!" called a wolf from behind, we both jumped and turned to see who was calling. Running to us came an orange and red striped wolf with silvery-gray eyes. 

"Hey, Blaisen how are you doing?" asked Misty, his arm still wrapped on my shoulder.

"Ah you know same old same old, it my turn to catch the dinner for everyone this evening, but you know me....I was wondering if maybe you'd help me out-- Oh and who's this Misty, your mate?" asked Blaisen. My jaw would have been on the ground right about now but I used all of my strength to prevent that....I was not anyone's mate! 

"Well, that would be the case if she accepts my offer?" said Misty. My eyes were widened by his response, I was shocked. 

He--he wants me to be his--his......MATE?!!! I screamed in my head. 

I didn't know how to respond to his question, I was frozen....and just stood there in my hot headed, embarrassment state of mind.

"The long pause means she's thinking it over Misty...." smirked Blaisen with a wink. I glared at him and he looked pale at my stare, which I expected. 

"If you won't mind Misty I'd like some fresh air, excuse me....." I said as I walked away.

"Hey at least think about it?!!!" asked Misty. I paused and glanced at him, his eyes glistening in the light of the caves crystals that hung from above. I nodded and flew off to get some air.

Misty:  

"What the heck was that, you can't speak for her that was completely uncalled for Blaisen!" I said to him. 

"Sorry brother, but she was so quiet and you didn't see her face she was blushing....ha ha if she blushed any harder she'd be a red wolf!" chuckled Blaisen. 

"I'll never understand your twisted sense of humor, Blaisen....but she isn't a wolf she's a fox, and she is the chosen one....you know the one from the prophecy" I said. 

Blaisen's eyes widened, "Y--you mean I just insulted the chosen one, crap I'm gonna have bad luck the rest of my life!" whined Blaisen. I rolled his eyes, and smiled...

"I'm sure she'll forgive you Blaisen...." I told him. Blaisen got off the floor after I agreed to help him hunt for dinner, this evening. 

Shadow:

I found myself back at the exit where I came through earlier, I didn't go out of the cave I just paced back and forth thinking about Misty's request.

Well, that would be the case if she accepts my offer? Misty's words echoed, repeating over and over in my head. What was I to do? This was my first experience that of a kind, caring other asked that I be his....mate. I sat down on the cold stone and saw the light of the full moon shine on my face. The light the bounced off of my crystal giving me a sign...an image of something. Something dark, the destroyer maybe? I backed away out of the light when I saw his huge terrifying blood red eyes, and I found myself in Misty's arms again.

"Oh, Misty! S--sorry I didn't see you there..." I said feeling my face feel hot again. He had brought the meat I hadn't ate before and tried offering it to me again. This time I took it and ate it until it was gone...

"Thank you Misty....." I said to him. He nodded and looked off into the distance, with a sigh. I looked into his eyes, and know there was love but I wasn't sure of what to say....so I let my guard down a little to see what would happen, I found my tail had wrapped itself around his, and my wing around his shoulder, there was silence, I stared at the ground trembling........

What now? I wondered....he moved his tail wrapping it around mine, I chill went up my spine as he did, I gulped.
