Wild Child

YES OR NO ANSWER; Easier Said Then Done!

My heart is throbbing in my chest, I fear that it'll leap out of me and run away if I don't calm down soon....my fur is standing up and I feel hot all over my body from head to tail.

What do I do, what do I do, what do I do?! I think to myself, trying to breath steadily. Misty suddenly leans closer to me, I stop breathing and steal a glance towards him...he is still getting closer to me, he scoots over and our shoulders touch. I look at him with my head low, he smiles and presses his face against my cheek...I feel calmer now and pull him closer with my wing and nuzzle under his chin as I closed my eyes with a deep sigh. 

"S--so um, will y--you be my mate Shadow?" stuttered Misty. I opened my eyes and wasn't sure what to say but I thought I should be honest with him...

"I don't know Misty, I--this is--I find this situation new, strange and different to me, back home I've always seemed to know what to do when the smaller animals were in trouble...but this--this is something I know nothing about....love I don't know what it feels like or how I am to act" I said plainly. He was quiet for a moment,

"Hmm, well I guess I'll just have to show you then!" he said Misty, as he pushes me to the ground with his paws. I am now on my back, look up and there he is over me, he lays half of himself on me and the other on the ground beside me.

"W--what are you doing?! Get off!" I tell him, trying to push his massive legs/arms off of me. But they are much heavier than I thought and I am still kind of out of it after what happened to me before. He waits until I am still, then he nuzzles his nose up against my fur, breathing hot air on my neck making me feel hot all over again. He rubs his cheek against my head, he is warm and this feels kind of nice.

"I love you Shadow...." He whispers in my ear. 

I find that making my heart throb in my chest again, and can't help but wonder if my heart is telling me the word that Misty is expressing. I let my guard down a little bit more and find myself now on top of Misty, how that happened I am not sure but he is wide eyed as I stare at him, my tail wags from side to side, and I find myself lowering closer and closer to his face....

"Hey you two love birds!" suddenly says Blaisen, Misty and I are both startled by him and jump off of each other. His cheeks are red, and mine feel the same as Blaisen reminds him of the hunt he asked about before. He nodded and goes with Blaisen to hunt for dinner, but he turns and heads back to me for a moment,

"Head back to the cave you were resting in I'll meet you there shortly with food..." he says still blushing, and then leaves without another word. I smile and head inside and return to the small cave I had been taken to before, when I was out....I fell asleep after a while and then wake to the sound of footsteps. I sniffed the air, but it didn't smell like Misty...it was someone else altogether.

"Who's there?!" I growled. A purple and dark blue marked wolf with bright ruby red eyes stood at the entrance of my cave....

"You must be the chosen one everyone is talking about, I am Petal-joy....what do they call you?" she asked. Something about her voice was calming and peaceful to me so,

"I am called Shadow Sapphire Lotus...." I told her. She smiled, she told me that she slept in the cave three over from me and that she had just finished recovering from a battle, she had large scars on her back to prove it, Souvenirs she called them, each one told a story of a victory or a life changing lesson to remember...she said she was going and left my cave, I thought about things and Misty mostly, why would he want to be with me? 

There are so many gorgeous wolves around for him to choose from and he chose someone who isn't even his kind...me. I felt my face blush. What made him fall in love with me, what stood out than the rest, that he found one-of-a-kind? I thought and thought it over and over in my dreams, I woke up to the sound of footsteps and smelled Misty as he entered my cave and sat by me with some of the meat he had caught with Blaisen.

"How was the hunt?" I asked. He set the meat down and smiled, "I spotted a big animal, an elk and everyone is pleased...." he told me. I ate some of the meat and sat up a little. 

"How are you feeling Shadow?" he asked me. 

"My joints are a little sore, and I'm not as strong as I was when I came here, I feel so tired....but I'm sure it'll surpass" I said with a smile.

"You should finish the rest of the meat, I already ate..." he said to me. I nodded and finished the rest. I wonder if he is alright he is acting somewhat different now that he is back. I yawn and let my guard down a bit again, I find myself snuggled by Misty and I let out a sigh....

"I missed you...." I hear myself say. He looks at me wide eyed and blushes. I am also surprised by my own words and feel my face heating up again.

"You missed me?" he repeated. I bit my bottom lip and nod as I stare at the ground. He licks my cheek and smiles. I feel hot all over once I realize what just happened.

He--he kissed me....! I thought as I sat there staring into his eyes. I felt red all over and wasn't sure what to do.

"Misty?" I asked, looking at my feet.

"Yes?" he said.

"W--why do you want t-to be with me, of all the other wolves you choose me, someone who isn't even your kind, why?" I asked looking up at him, so he knew I was serious. He looked up and the laid back on the ground beside me.

"Because your one of a kind....your beautiful, funny, caring, kind, and care about other first before yourself....I've only met one other like that in my life" he told me.

"They why didn't you go for them? If they were everything you value you should have gone for them!" I said.

"I am...." he said with a smile.

He tricked me....I thought trying not to look surprised.

"I um....want to uh...I accept to be your--mate...." I stuttered. He looked at me and smiled. I laid down beside him and rest my head against his chest feeling his gentle heartbeat thumping at a steady beat as I drifted off to sleep.
