I wake up next to Misty and smiled he was asleep and looked so sweet and peaceful as he slept, I sighed and licked his cheek. He smiled and opened his eyes.
"Good morning, gorgeous...." he said to me. I smiled. I got up, rubbed my eyes, and yawned. Me and him walked out of the cave and went out into the main area. Everyone was on the floor and fast asleep.
"Well looks like we're the ones getting breakfast for everyone..." he said.
"Huh?" I said.
"The first wolves up are the ones who are supposed to get breakfast, its something we all agreed to before...." he told me.
I nodded.
"I'm feeling a lot better, and my strength is back to normal again....Mind if I join you on the hunt?" I asked. I looked at me and looked unsure. He nodded. I walked with him to the exit, but a wolf then tripped us before we could leave.
"Hey?!" I said, as I got up. Laying on the ground was an old scar covered gray wolf with gold markings all over him, I glared into his dark green eyes.
"Why'd you do that?!" I growled at him.
"I think the chosen one should stay here Misty...." said the gray wolf to Misty. I was baffled that he ignored me.
"I--she wanted to come along....I think she deserves to stretch her wings" said Misty as he stood up. The gray wolf growled, "You know she'll be safer here....you should listen!"
I wasn't about to listen to some random wolf and flew over to the exit, waiting for Misty. "She'll be safe with me, and we will return with breakfast!" said Misty as he ran over to me and lead the way. As soon as I exited the cave and found myself on the mountain top once again I had noticed that my crystal had hid itself in my skin, it didn't hurt but I felt it do so. I also hid my wing so that I wouldn't be recognized by other wolves out there like the dark wolves. Me and Misty sniffed around once we were in a near by forest and looked for the next meal....I did see or smell anything good, or even a single rabbit. I climbed up a tree and smelled around again, getting every smell of the forest from miles away.
I smelled a large deer, and ran after it with Misty on my tail...I saw it up ahead and pounced on its back, biting hard at its neck, it kicked as it saw Misty. But I bit harder and it froze and fell to the ground. Misty was impressed as I dragged the dead animal that was bigger than me over to him. We teared off the fur and grabbed the good meat of the kill and started back for the mountain.
As we headed back I felt something in the air and froze...Misty looked at me as I looked around.
"Something wrong?" he asked.
"I don't know, I sensed something--just now, a feeling like something's coming" I told him. He looked around, and we both listened.
Suddenly out of the bushes jumped one of The Destroyer's dark wolves, he lashed his jaws as Misty, but he jumped out of the way just in time. I dropped my kill and lashed my claws at the dark wolf. I bit him so hard it bled. He backed off only for a moment, and I wasn't about to pass an opportunity.
"RUN!!" I said, as I picked up my kill. We both run as fast as we can away from the dark wolf, dodging trees and bushes to get away....But another dark wolf came out of no where, and tackles me to the ground, the meat I drop by a bush as I wrestled the evil, dark wolf. He lashed at my neck biting hard, but I clawed at his face making him release his grip, I slashed at him, and went to run, but he bit my leg making my fall to the ground, the smell of the blood made my sense of smell fizz. I fought the wolf for what seemed like forever. We both were panting and circling each other looking for a weak spot to puncture.
"Give up...child your no match for me I could go on like this for years!" he growled as drool fell from his mouth. I was tired and restless, and didn't know what to do. I heard what sounded like a faint howling of a near by wolf, but couldn't tell who it was.
"Ah, now your finished that would be the rest of my pack and when I'm finished with you, you will be our next meal!" he said licking his lips, he attached jumping at me, he pinned me to the ground ready to sink his teeth into my flesh, but before he could I grabbed his face with my finger like paws and held him as I heard a voice in my head chanting,
"Crystal blue of mother's heart heal the ones of the darkness, let this poor blind soul see the light, let him run free from the darkness that he has so been trapped in....Heal him, heal this poor soul!"
As I heard that chant green vine came out of my hand like paws and wrapped around the dark wolf's head and face, the around his entire body. I couldn't stop what was happening even if I wanted to, the dark wolf was whining and whimpering as he was enveloped in the vines, completely. There was a bright blue light, it flashed and the vines vanished altogether, when I opened my eyes there stood in front of my the dark wolf, encased in stone. I leaped away, startled and stared at what I had done.....then looked at my hand like paws.
What did I do....? I thought in horror. In the distance I heard a second howl, again startled I heard as wolves came running in my direction, but I was hurt and couldn't run so I hid in the under brush of the bushes by me. The wolves come in a big pack but it is not long that I realize that it is just Misty and a group of other wolves that have come to help search for me.
"Misty!" I said limping my way out of the bushes to him.
"Shadow, your alive!!!" he says running to me. The other wolves are the gray wolf from this morning and four others, mostly male. But I stare at the wolf I cased in stone, and am afraid of what I really could do....if not careful. Then the gray wolf then sees the stone wolf and walks over to it.
"There's blood around this thing, Did you do this?" he asks. I stare at the wolf, and feel awful, the pain of my wounds giving me a hard time to focus.
"This is not a good time she needs to get back to the pack!" says Misty. The gray wolf glares at Misty, "Hmm, very well but that leg of hers isn't in any condition to walk someone will have to carry her...." he says. Misty glances at me and dives under me and lifts me up onto his back, startling me.
"Ouch, hey wait a minute! Misty, I can walk!" I protest but he carries me anyway, as one of the search wolves carries my kill I had dropped earlier. We headed back to the mountain and I was taken back to the pack. I heard many wolves talking about me, asking each other what happened to me, and Misty that morning.
