Chapter 19

Skylar POV

"Hey Jacob, I think that black car is following us." I said. Jacob looking in the mirror and his eyes filled with fear. "Do you have your phone?" He said evenly.

I nodded. "I'm a teenager, when do I NOT have my phone?" I asked. "Call Raph." He said.

I nodded and pulled it out of my pocket.

I dialed his number for his shell phone and I waited. It went straight t voice mail. "It must be off. It didn't even ring."I said.

"Damn it. Try Leo." He said. just as He said that, my phone rang. "Hello?" I asked.

"Sky? Oh, thank god. Are you with your brother?" A unfamiliar voice said.

"Uh, yeah. Leo? Is that you? Are you okay, whats going on?" I asked.

"Just please give your brother the phone. Dont ask questions. this is important." he said. I nodded even though he couldn't see me and handed it too Jacob.

"What's happening?" Jacob said urgently. Leo's voice was muffled so I didn't hear his response.

"We're being followed. What should I do? I'm about 5 blocks from the lair." My brother asked. I studied his face. I had never seen him like this.His knuckles were white against the steering wheel and he was breathing deeply and fear was full in his eyes. He hung up and handed me my phone.

"Hold on tight." He said. Then he swung a u-turn and stepped on the gas. i screamed. I'm not sure why, but I just did.

I heard tires behind us. "God dammit, are they still following us?" He asked. I turned around and looked at the car. "Yeah, and they're pretty close." I said. Then, I caught site of the person driving. "Sean?" I whispered.

'What the hell? What is going on?!' "Okay. I think it's time for your to tell me what the hell is going on." I demanded as we neared the lair. "Watch your mouth." Was all that Jacob said before going silent again. "You watch yours!" I said. I don't know why but I had yelled. I never yell. Ever.

"Look just calm down, sit down and shut up so I can figure out how to keep you safe" He yelled back. I was startled and leaned back, got as small as I could be, and shut up. We went around a sharp corner and Jacob slammed on the breaks. "Hurry get out." He said. I jumped out and he ran around the truck and grabbed my hand. "Come on." He said.

he pulled me to an alley. It semed familar. "This..this is where you attcked me."I said quietly. He didn't repond and dragged me down the long alley. there was a turn at the end when we got around the corner, I held a screm back by holding my hand over my mouth.

"Hey Skylar. Who's this? Wait, I don't care." a voice that is normally so sweet and kind said in the shadows. Then, he walked out. There was a muffled shout from the darkness. Then, two men came out, dragging a fighting Leo. "LEO! I yelled. Men ran at me and my brother and grabbed us.

"Sean. What are you doing?" I said with a shaky voice.

"Wait, you know him?" My brother said breathlessly.

"Apparently not." I growled. He laughed darkly and injected something in my arm. then, my vision blurred before disappearing
