Chapter 9

Raph POV

"Sky. You have to go to bed." I said. She shook her head and looked away. I saw a tear slip down her face. "Sky. It'll be okay. I won't leave. I'll be right here with you while you sleep and the boys are right next door." I said. She sniffled and still didn't look at me.

"You can go to sleep. I know your tired. I won't leave. I can braid my hair." She said softly.

"Hey. I'm not tired. You are though. It's been three days. You have to sleep at some point. You've had barely any sleep." I said. She looked at me.

"You don't have to lie. You are tired. Between doing your job and taking care of me at night, you are super tired. When we sat on the couch today and talked to the guys, you fell asleep almost as soon as we sat down. You need sleep. I can't sleep." She said, the very last thing super quiet. "Hey. I'm here. Just calm down and think about other things. If you don't let the nightmare come in you mind, then you can't have the nightmare." I said. She looked away again and sighed shakily.

"I don't know how." She said, leaning against me gently. "Just try it. If it doesn't work, we'll find another way." I said. She sighed and turned over. I put my arm around her hoping to comfort her.

I shook my head and fought sleep as I listened to the rhythmic sound of Sky's even breathing.

I looked over her at her face and smiling at her. She looked peaceful for the first time since I had met her. I kissed her cheek and whispered "I love you Skylar. Nothing will ever happen to you." I laid down and took my arm off her to give her a little space.

As soon as I closed my eyes, I was out like a light.

Skylar POV

I felt Raph's warm breath on my cheek as he kissed me softly.

"I love you Skylar. Nothing will ever happen to you." He whispered in my ear.

'He, loves me?' I asked myself. How could anyone love me? The only love I knew was my father's love.

'Some lover I am. He needs sleep. That means, that I have to get out of here. I could be back before he wakes up.' I thought. I listened and heard his soft snore behind me so I stood up. I put my feet on the floor slowly an when I put my wait on it, it creaked. I froze and looked back at Raph. He moaned softly and rolled over. "I love you too." I said quietly. Then I kept moving and quietly slipped out the door. I walked over to the door that lead to the alley outside. I slipped on my shoes and opened the door. The dark cool night welcomed me. I took off down the street to my house. I came to the door and went to go inside.

'What am I doing?' I asked myself. I turned to leave and froze in fear.

"Hello babe. Did you miss me?" The voice from my nightmares said. There was a figure in a black hoodie and jeans standing there, staring at me.

The figure came at me and grabbed me by the wrist. How about you take a little walk with me." He sneered. I gasped in pain as he tightened his grip on my wrists.

He walked me to an alley. "Now. Let's talk. Take a seat." He said forcefully as he pushed me down.

"Now. Do you remember your mother? The mother who died when you were 14 months old?" He sneered. I was taken aback

"How did you.." I stammered.

"How did I know about that? Well you see. If you weren't such a stupid little kid you would remember that you weren't the only child." He sneered.

"Now. This little discussion tonight, your little turtle friends can't know about this. If they find out or if you tell them, I will find them an I will kill them, starting with the muscle red with the red mask." He said darkly. He laughed and dragged me to my feet. He put his hand on face and and I cringed.

"Good. I left a nice mark on you." He snickered as his thumb traced the scar on my cheek.

I couldn't help it. I smacked his hand, his reflexes were too fast though. I couldn't react before he grabbed my wrist and twisted it. I screamed out in pain. "Sky!" I heard my name being called.

"Oh look. That's my cue." he said, I could tell he was smiling even though his face remained hidden by his hood. Kneed me in the stomach and pushed me into the street as he took off down the street. "Raph!" I called weakly. I tried to stand. I got to my feet by couldn't do it and fell uselessly back into the middle of the street. "Sky!" I heard someone yell. "Help." I said weakly. "Guys, she's over here." I heard Casey's familiar voice. Strong arms lifted me up.

"Hey girl. You don't look too good." He said in a playful tone. "Hi Casey. Where's Raph?" I asked.

"He's coming. He's coming." He said i heard someone's heavy breathing and then Someone moved my hair out of my face.

"Hey there." A familiar voice said. It was Raph.

I groaned in pain as Casey handed me to him. "Sorry." He said.

"It's fine." I said weakly. Let's get you home." He said.

Raphs POV.

I helped Sky climb into bed. I sat down and covered us up.

"Okay. What the hell were you doing!" I said. I exploded. She looked away.

"I was going to see my dad. But I decided it was stupid...and...and I tried to come back but..but... I fell." She said.

"That's bull. I know you saw him. What happened." I said. She looked away and tears started falling into her lap.

"You can tell me." I said.

"No..no..no I can't." She said. "He..he'll hurt you Raph. I can't tell you." She said. She then started sobbing into her hands.

"Come here." I said. I pulled her into my arms. "I will protect you. This jackass will not get you, or me." I said. She nodded as she curled up in my arms. She calmed down enough that I figured she was asleep.

I laid my head back against the wall and sighed.

"Raph, can I tell you something?" Her voice said quietly. "Sure." I said. "Always." She sat up in my lap. "I love you too." She said. "Hey! You weren't suppose to hear that." I said. She laughed. "I know." She said. The she leaned in and kissed me. "Thank you for being here for me." She said. I just shocked as she climbed of my lap and laid down beside me, smiling as she closed her eyes.

"Raphael Hamato, you are going soft." I heard a voice say. I glared up at Casey. "Shut it. I could still kick your butt." I said, smiling at him.

"Sure, okay. So anyway. You want me to take a turn watching her. You could go sleep on the couch and get some rest." He said.

I glanced down at Sky's sleeping face. She looked so adorable. I sighed. I would have to be able to stay awake if I would be able to help her. I nodded and carefully untangled myself from Sky's sleeping figure. I walked over to my couch and plopped down on my couch. "Now, if you, or her, need anything, just wake me up. And...thanks man." I said. Then I turned on my stomach and sighed as I slipped into a world of dreamless sleep.
