Penelope's POV:
Over the week, I changed my attitude towards people. Still a little socially awkward, but I'm not cold and unemotional. I was really starting to think about my new life here. And about everything else. And this so called "Morgan" guy.
I was looking at myself in the mirror after a hot shower and started thinking. Would he like the new look on me? Or my change in personality? What about the glasses? Hell, would he like me?! I'm in way over my head. I couldn't score a guy like him. But he was oh so dreamy. I could try, right? Maybe he would play along? Yeah. Alright.
I was really showing more confidence in myself. Before, I was really insecure even though I didn't show it. And coldness was really the only way for me. But, I was determined to change my look and start over. And maybe find a boyfriend in the years that I'm here?
It was Thursday night and I had nothing to do. I had totally forgotten about my best friend Kevin! We basically grew up together in Cali. We were basically brother and sister. We did everything together! And we went to the same college. I hadn't talked to him after my parents died. And that's the same time I dropped out. So, I decided to call him. He was probably wondering where I was. I had changed my phone number but I remembered his by memory.
I put on my pjs, sat down on my couch and grabbed a pillow to cuddle with. I was so excited to talk to him! I wondered what had happened to him over time. I dialed his number and waited for him to pick up. I had called him three times and no answer. He was probably asleep. I called him one last time to be sure and he answered.
"Hello?" He sounded irritated. "Kevin! Hey! How ya been! Its Penelope." "Oh! Hey Penny! Where ya been? What's up? You sound different." "Yeah yeah. I moved to Virginia and uh, I got a job in Quantico." "Oh! really? doing what?" He sounded preoccupied. "Ummm, FBI, BAU more specifically. I'm the technical analyst. I start in a few days." "That's great! Good for you!" "Thanks. So, Kev what ya been up to lately?" "Nothing much. Just hanging around- hey I'll talk to you later Penny ok? Call you in a few days, alright?" "oh ok. till then." "Till then my friend." "Bye Kev." "Bye."
That was nice. Even if it wasn't long, it was nice. I could always talk to him and that kinda relieved some stress. It was only 9:40pm so I watched a few movies until I fell asleep.

Kevin's POV:
I was sitting down watching tv, when my phone rings. It was an unknown number so I declined it. I continued watching tv and my phone rang again. Same unknown number. They called back one last time so I decided to answer it.
"Hello?" "Hey Kevin! It's Penelope! How ya been?!" "Hey Penny!" I was so surprised to hear from her like this out of the blue. She must have changed her number over the years. We were best friends and we grew up together here in California. I hadn't heard from her after she dropped out of college we went to together because of her parents death.
She was a smart, beautiful girl and I had fallen head over heels for her in college. I was so sad after she left. And now this! I wondered how she looked.
"What's up? What's been going on with you? You sound different." "Yeah yeah. I, uh moved to Virginia and I got a job. In Quantico." I could hear my heart breaking into pieces. Virginia? That's the other side of the country! Why didn't she tell me this?! I didn't want her to know how broken up I was about it, so I played it cool.
"Oh! Really? Doing what?" "Ummm, FBI, BAU more specifically. I'm the technical analyst. I start in a few days." Wow! Way to go Penny! "That's great! Good for you!" "Thanks. So Kev, what ya been up to lately?" "Uh nothing much. Just hanging around- hey I'll talk to you later Penny, ok? Call you in a few days, alright?" "Oh ok. well, till then." "Till then my friend." "Bye Kev." "Bye."
She hung up and I was just sitting there. Trying to collect my thoughts. I was so shocked about this, I couldn't believe it. Across the country? Ah man. What am I gonna do now. I lean forward and rub my hands through my hair, thinking. What now?
