23. Never Leave Me

Derek's POV:

After I got out of the hospital, I went back home and called Hotch. I took a week off work and everyday, I visited Penelope in the hospital. I brought her flowers. Daisies, her favorite. I sat there, looking at her.

She was so peaceful. It was quiet, so I sat back in my chair and closed my eyes. We had caught the sons of bitches and the team was going back home. I hadn't seen ma in a while. Should I bring Penelope with me? Ma would love her.

A nurse came in and I opened my eyes. "Oh! Didn't know she had a visitor! Just need to check a few things." "Go ahead." She walks over to Penelope's bed and writes a few things down, then leaves.

My phone rings and it's JJ. "Morgan." "Hey Morgan! How's it been?" "Good. What about you?" "Work, work and more work." I laugh,"How's Garcia?" I look over at her,"Fine. She's still in a coma." "Oh ok. Well, I have to go. When she wakes up give her a big hug for me." "Ok. Bye." "Bye."

She hangs up and I put my phone in my pocket. I pull up a chair to the side of her bed and hold her hand in mine. I kiss it and whisper,"I'm sorry." I close my eyes. It was all my fault. We shouldn't have left the station that late. I couldn't protect my Baby Girl and now she's like this. I sigh.

"Hey hot stuff." I open my eyes and Penelope is looking back at me with her big brown eyes. "Baby Girl! You're awake! Oh my god!" I jump up and hug her tight. She wraps her arms around me and laughs lightly,"Glad to see you too." I let go,"JJ told me to give you a big hug." She smiles,"Tell her I said thanks." I smile back,"Ok."

She looks around the room and spots the flowers. "Daisies. My favorite." I smile at her and say,"I knew you'd like them." She looks at me and smiles.

"How long have I been here?" "About a week." "Oh. Where's everyone else?" "Back in Quantico. I took a week off to visit you." "Awe, thanks." "Anything for my Baby Girl." I kiss her forehead and she sits up.

I sit down and it grew quiet. After a while, I say,"Hey look, I'm sorry. About all this. It's all my fault. We shouldn't have left the station that late and I should've protected you. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you and-" "Hey, hey now, listen to me."

I look at her and she puts her hand on my face,"It's alright ok? It's not your fault. You couldn't help yourself after what that sicko did to you and that's perfectly fine, Derek. We made it and you're here for me now. I love you, and nothing will change that. I love you so much, all the nano-intellect computer system data packs in the world couldn't hold all the love in my heart for you! I'm talking techy aren't I?"

I smile and laugh a little,"Yeah, but it's sexy." I wink at her. She smiles and says,"Not as sexy as you." We laugh and I stand up. "So, when will I be outta here?" "In a few days. And I'll be here with you." I look at her and she smiles at me.

Penelope's POV:

I got out of the hospital on a Friday and Derek and I caught a plane back to Virginia. Once we got there, Derek drove me home and stayed with me. He called Hotch and said he'll be staying with me for the weekend.

I walked in my door with my bags and all my things. "It's so good to be back home finally!" I flop down on my couch and take off my shoes. Derek walks in a few seconds later,"Where do you want your bags of bricks." I laugh,"Put them in my bedroom will ya?" He trudges in there and comes back out and sits next to me.

"What now?" I look at him and he looks back at me. He looks so cute. I shrug my shoulders and say,"Movies and popcorn?" "Sounds good." I get up and start the popcorn,"I'm gonna go take a quick shower. You can start the movie without me." "You sure?" "Yeah." "Ok."

I go to the bathroom and get in the shower. I take a 10 minute hot shower and get out. I look for my robe and can't find it. Great. I stick my head out the door and call for Derek,"Morgan! Morgan!"

He walks in,"Watcha need?" "Can you hand me my robe over there." I point to it and he grabs it,"Ok I won't look!" He covers his eyes and runs into my dresser. "Ow! What the heck was that?!" I laugh and step out the bathroom. "I'll get it. Keep those eyes shut and no peeking!" "Yes ma'am."

He smiles and I take the robe out his hands. I stand there for a second. "Are you going to put it on?" "OH MY GOD DEREK! I SAID NO PEEKING!" I put it on quick and he laughs. "I wasn't peeking! I promise!" "Whatever you say sweety!" I push him out my room and shut the door.

I hear him laughing and I smile. Did he really just see me naked?! I blush and put my purple pjs on and come out. He looks at me,"Took ya long enough! Popcorn's almost gone." "Couldn't wait?" We laugh and I lay on the couch with him.

He wraps his arms around me and he puts his chin on my shoulder and I wince. I guess he saw it and says,"Sorry. I forgot." "It's alright. Thanks for staying with me." "Anytime Baby Girl." We sit in silence, watching the movie. My phone rings and it's a text from JJ. I take out my phone and read it.

"How's it going with Chocolate Thunder huh? ;)" I smile and Derek goes,"Who's that?" "JJ." "Lemme see." "No!" He tickles my sides and grabs my phone. "No! Give it back!" "Ah ah ah! Not until you tell me what you two were talking about!" "Never!"

"I know your password!" Crap. He types it in and reads the message. "Chocolate Thunder?" "Oh god!" I lunge for my phone and he keeps it away. I'm laying on top of him,"C'mon Derek! Give it back!" He laughs and I finally grab it from him.

I look into his deep brown eyes and we're smiling at each other. He grabs my sides and I blush. He smiles,"What's got you blushing huh? Cutie." I smile,"It's too hot in here, because you're in here." He laughs and says,"You're the one that's making it hot."

We stare into each other's eyes for a few seconds. "Umm, I'll see you in the morning, Derek." "Ok." He smiles and I smile back.

I get off of him and he lets me go. He says,"Goodnight Hot stuff." "Goodnight." I shut my door and stand against the wall. I take a breath and think about what just happened. Was he going to kiss me?! Oh god Penelope! I would absolutely love that right about now.

I sit down on the bed. After a few minutes, I realized I had left my phone. I open up my door slowly and tip toe over to the couch. Derek was asleep and I grabbed my phone and turned off the TV. I go back in my room and text JJ back. "It's going great. I'll talk to you tomorrow 😁" She texts back "Ok PG... 😳"

I smile, put my phone on the charger and dose off.
