Derek's POV:

Over the past 2 weeks, I was thinking about asking Penelope out on a date or something. She got better but, after what happened that Saturday, I was having second thoughts. But, on the bright side, we did have a stronger bond after all that.

The team was in New York on a case where 3 young women were found stabbed in the face, hands and feet bound and stripped down to their underwear. Their backs were written on in blood "find the blackbird in the night, and you shall see the mornings light -T"

I was video chatting with Penelope about anything she had found. "Well, none of the girls interacted with each other in the last 5 months and none had a criminal record."

She had on a low cut yellow dress with her hair in pigtails and a wide yellow headband. Pink lipstick and yellow eye shadow too and her nails were orange with orange glasses to go with them.

"I looked up that quote you gave me and it came from a book made in 1989 called "The Reader's Book". It has nothing to do with readers or books but that's just the name. Crazy right? It's about a boy that falls into a coma at 12 and, while in the coma, he has to go on this sort of quest that determines his fate in the real world. Sounds like fun."

I smile and say,"Do you know what "T" stands for?" "Uuuummm, it stands for Tormentor, if that's what you're looking for. He's the one that gives the boy clues to his next quest but ya boy T is the bad guy." "Ok, thanks momma." "Anytime sweet cheeks."

"Before you go, I wanna ask you something." "Ask away." "Would you uh, like to go to the park with me sometime? Ya know, to kinda talk. And stuff." "Uh, yeah just let me know when." "Ok." "Ok. Bye." "Bye." She hangs up and I lean back in my chair. "Finally did something, huh?"

I turn around and see Rossi standing behind me,"What if I mess up Rossi." "True love will find a way. Trust me." He pats my shoulder and smiles at me. I smile back and he walks away.

Penelope's POV:

"Oh my god JJ! Morgan just asked me on a date and I'm freaking out!!! I don't know what to do! Guide meee!!" "Ok ok! Calm down! Did he ask you to dinner or what?" "He asked me to go to the park with him." "Oh ok. That's a start. Walking in the park is romantic too, ya know."

"Yeah. Ok thanks JJ." "Anytime PG, and did you know we got a new team member?" "Really?" "Alex Blake. She's working with linguistics." "Oh ok. Whatever that is." She laughs,"PG out."

I hang up and think about this "date" Derek asked me on. I had really come to love this man, after all we've been through. I smile thinking about it. The phone rings and it's Derek.

"Couldn't stay away, could ya? Whatcha got!" He laughs,"We need a list of people that worked at Raphael's Diner in the past two years." "And cross check that with any elementary school workers too." said a woman.

"Alex Blake? Is that you?" "Yes. How did you-" "I have my ways. Welcome welcome!" "Nice to meet you...?" "Garcia. Penelope Garcia. Professional Hottie." They laugh and I say,"I'll get that list back to ya!" "Thanks Baby Girl."

They hang up. She seems like a nice person. Can't wait to meet her.

-

Four days go by, and the team comes back home. I meet them all at the elevator and I see this Alex they speak of. "Alex Blake?" I walk up to her and extend my hand. "And you must be Penelope." We smile at each other and shake hands. "It's nice to meet you." "Same here."

She was an older woman, in her late 40s, you could say, but she looked younger than her age. She has long brown hair and she's tall. "Sorry it can't stay and talk, I have to get back home." "Oh no! It's fine! See you tomorrow then."

We wave goodbye and Derek comes up to me. "Approved?" "Approved." We smile at each other and I pack up my things. We walk out together and I drive home. I ate dinner and watched TV and fell asleep on the couch.

-

The next morning, I woke up and took a shower. I put on a light blue dress and heels to match. I put my hair in a ponytail and put on blue glasses. Blue eyeshadow and red lipstick to top it off.

I rushed off to headquarters and rode up the elevator. Once in my office, I put my bags down and noticed a single daisy and a note on one of my monitors. I smelled the flower and read the note.

"Tonight at 7 by the pond." I guessed, it was Derek. He sure knows how to set a time.
